A LEAKED US memo has accused British troops in Afghanistan of being ill-disciplined, deficient in intelligence-gathering and suffering from problems of “personal hygiene”.

The confidential debriefing, said to have been handed out by a top American commander, cites a litany of concerns which the unnamed officer is said to have had about British allies in the fight against the Taleban.
They include complaints that the British troops do not spend long enough in the country or with indigenous people. The marines commander is also reported to have accused the British of spending too long recovering from patrols and suffering too many injuries away from the battlefield.

The report claims the commander declared: “Your standards of personal hygiene and field discipline aren’t good enough, and you have too many non-battle injuries.” UK forces were said to patrol in formations that were too large, to spend too much time “recovering” and to patrol too often without the Afghan police or army.

I disagree, a rift in the so called "special relationship" between two of the most lethally belligerent states in the world is in my opinion worthy of much rejoicing.

hired killers are mercenaries. those guy are soldier, misguided folks. if they would have been in the killing buisness for the money they would have joined a mercenary organisation to be paid 400 dollars a day instead of 800 a week.

what you seem to fail to understand is that, those folks are doing their job to protect their sibling, and frankly i dont see any problem in a communist society to have armed folks with experience to protect me.

what is important to consider is that right now they are misguided and misused by the people in power.

You are correct that I fail to understand how invading other peoples land and killing them is to protect their siblings. Why should their siblings be more deserving of protection than those of their victims anyway?

There are billions of people misused by the people in power, I respect the ones that don't volunteer to kill on behalf of those people in power far more than those who do, however missguided they might be.

soldier are hired in theory to protect the country they work for and ultimately the people living inside. has i said earlier i dont see any problem with having people protecting me. of course they are misused by the people in power for various imperialist goal but still, their main function is to protect the people living in the country they work for.

numerous number of mercenaries have only police training or they get the basic training by the mercenary buisness itself.

has i said earlier its imperialism, it have nothing to do the soldier themselves. yes they are doing some pretty nasty stuff, but we are all in the same boat, by participating to the system we help imperialism, from working to purchasing a video game, its all finance and help imperialism.
the problem is not their job but their assignement.
