Social freedoms during the Spanish Civil War

How much social freedoms did people have in anarchist communes during the Spanish Civil War? Were civil liberties upheld for racial minorities, homosexuals, etc.?

I know that seksuality knew much freedom, except from prostitution, which was seen as a sinfull remnant from capitalist oppression of women! I'm not sure about racial minorities and homosexuals, but I know emancipation of women gained a lot and also the rather vague concept of 'free love' was pretty common, and the institute of marriage on many places replaced by social contracts or even demolished.

I rather fancy the though that homosexuality and racial minorities were also held up high because of the ideals of solidarity, but it's more of my own romanticized picture of the situation than based on any reality.
