I am sure most people have heard of it. Although I have not taken it my friend has and apparently you are not supposed to eat 5 hours after taking it and he threw up everywhere.

Stuff's adictive. My friend ended up shooting it until he tapped out all his veins.
Personally, I used to do it, and found I could think and concentrate better, but it dulled my personality and creativity.
Stuff's adictive. Mijn vriend eindigde schieten tot hij tikte uit al zijn aderen.
Ikzelf heb het te doen, en vond ik kon denken en zich beter concentreren, maar mijn persoonlijkheid en creativiteit afgestompt. [/ QUOTE] did it raised the serotonine level in your brain down perhaps?

No, ritilion is technically an amphetimine, it has different effects on different people, but it causes the brain to experience more dopamine, which is the same thing cocaine does. It's kind of like mellow coke, or adderall.
It's popular with college kids as a study aide, but around %30 end up getting addicted.
[/ QUOTE]
a normal dose is three 10 milligram pills a day i took 10 pills.
but i stay mellow inside. with coke it isn"t that mellow.:)

Yea, like I say, it releases dopamine like coke, a sense of euphoria, but without the speediness.
It is less addictive then coke.

I spent about 4 years on meds (Ritalin and was later switched to dexies), doctors orders, horrible shit. After a while i developed chronic depression and insomia.

Its wretched shit being churned out by the pharma industry to try and fit kids in the mould that society demands of them.

i was prescribed it. along with other amphetamines. dont do it. it fucks up your body. can lead to amphetamine withdrawls and i have an inkling it stunted my growth. (i was taking amphetamines from age 7/8-14

I absolutely hate that i was prescribed this shit. i cant believe amphetamines are legal and Marijuana is illegal. sure you will stay thin and get more done. its the capitalist drug of choice!

Ritalin, Dexatrim, Adderall. fucking stay away from them.

I can understand that you hate it. it fucked you really up didn't it.
do you suffer from depressions caused by medicine use? I know with ritalin that it just like amphetamines fucks up your serotonine levell. and of result of that you feel a bit depressed and less need to do active things. and when you stopped with those drugs did you started to grow again? or was your grow ruined for the rest of your life till now? I say it hounestly I'm gonna use it again in the neir future. I know it is bad but I sniffed coke and speed in the past i quitted since 5 years with that. but with ritalin I don't feel too many rotten sideeffects. my pupills don't get widend i still have a appetite and I can sleep very quick after the effect is working out.
but it is bad. shame on myself:laugh:

well, during my middle teen years i did have a big bit of depression. it may have been a sideaffect of it. but also, it causes that creeper feeling (like bugs on your skin) it may have just been the shitty califronia valley weather that did it to me but that may have also been a sideaffect. as for growth. i topped out at 5foot6inches and for being 18 i look roughly 15/16.

And, what the amphetamine does is help activate the cerebrum(i think) which misfires for those with ADHD. so, how does ti do that? it starts producing a shit load of dopamine.

i can say, i was quite creative with legos when i was on those meds. (one of my feats was making a lego transmission that kinda worked. it had 3 speeds ^^) and i was quite skinny... but the only thing i miss is the creativity.

i read about the sideaffects a while ago so some of my information might be a bit off. but i am damn sure that it was for the worse. as ADHD seems to wear off with age.

If it wasn't prescribed don't take it. It'll fuck you up beyond repair.

Haha, my brother takes this stuff, but that's because he actually has ADD. Apperently things have the opposite affect on them. People in this thread are saying Ritalin gives them alertness and keeps them awake while it calms people with ADD down. Caffeine apperently calms them down as well. My mom gives my brother caffinated beverages.

I know that add patients getting calmer in general but not with everybody.
some people gettin' impulse from it and start to show irrational and sometimes even criminal behaviour.

It dont know if you can actually call it an opposite effect. Amphetamine does raise the alertness of the user with adhd/add but it also does so in a normal person, thats why people take it, to get business done. and it has the same adverse health effects regardless of adhd/add or not. it still effects their appetite(i was extremely skinny) and also effects sleeping.
like i said before the reason why it manages to make people with the disorder better is it controls the imbalance of dopamine in the brain. it helps to achieve a homeostasis.
but there were times when i had my adderall and i was still hyper as fuck. i was on a higher dosage and i even felt my heart fluttering and got a bit dizzy the first few days.

I also heard Marijuana (or THC supplements) being used to treat people with hyperactivity and attention disorders and even studdering. i would have taken weed over speed anyday.

I really think it unwise to take this shit. It may feel great for numerous times when you first start, but it will not be long before you find that the beneficial effects begin to become less beneficial, and before you know it, you will have to take the shit just to achieve your normal "pre-ritalin" levels of functioning. I was diagnosed with "non-hyper ADD" (which, I tend to think in retrospect, that this diagnosis is absolute bullshit and dresses up a societal/institutional problem as an individual psychological disorder) and I was taking adderall for several years. It becomes very addictive. I realize ritalin, a methylphenidate, is slightly different from adderall, an amphetamine, and also slightly less addictive... but I think the results can ultimately be essentially the same. I think it is a serious mistake to begin taking something like this regularly - you will become dependant upon it just to do basic things that you were able to do perfectly fine before you began taking it.
