At least 60 people were injured and 130 arrested during extremist rallies in the German city of Hamburg over the weekend, police said Sunday.
Hundreds of rioters took to the streets saturday night after an alternative Left-wing street festival, attacking passers-by and smashing cars and shop windows.
The previous night, 12 policemen and several protesters were injured as right-wing National Democratic Party (NPD) followers threw stones, bottles and lit fires in protest ahead of the Left-wing event.

Police say 12 officers have been injured in clashes with left-wing demonstrators in the German city of Hamburg following a far-right rally.
Police spokesman Ralf Meyer says Saturday that 60 people — mostly left-wing activists — were detained in the clashes, which came after a demonstration against the far-right march.
Barricades and cars were set alight during the violence Friday night and police were attacked with bottles and stones. Meyer says an officer fired a warning shot after one police car was attacked.
