To be honest I took this idea from exchange students.
I take that most of us here are pretty poor, at least a lot of us cannot afford hotels, tickets, eating outside etc. without making some sacrifices.
I also take that most of us live in places that other people here want to visit. For example I want to visit Europe and someone in Europe wants to visit North America etc.

Then why not sort of organize a "travel group" where people can stay at people's houses for free for a small period of vacation time ? (usualy 5-10 days).

I think security is an issue, so I'd reccomend not trusting people who are new to revolutionary politics, or who sound lunatic. I don't know if anyone here is interested, so I'm just throwing a suggestion.

PS: I want to visit London

This is already done on http://www.couchsurfing.org/, and is a better and safer place.

I'd take gladly someone... Problem is, where as my communal apartment has an extra bed... In the common area, I live in the middle of motherfucking nowhere. So if someone wants to see... nothing, PM me.

I used to travel to Italy to my friends' family couple of times this way. He then came to us for a month when I still lived with parents. I'd say that this is the only way to go on a holiday. If you just book a hotel room all you see is museums and beaches. When you have a local "guide" you get some in depth tourism to a foreign culture.

EDIT: No wait!!! There is a zoo just across the lake with an arctic theme.

Excactly! Plus the guide is a comrade, so he can show you around in the local revolutionary "scene".

You can also squat-travel. Of course you'll have to find squats and hope that they'll let you in.
