Hey everyone!

I joined this community to learn a LOT hopefully about the different views of what Communism is supposed to be.
According to what I know and learned, I'd say I'm sort of a Marxist-Leninist but at the same time, I've heard communists say that Venezuela and Cuba aren't communist (in the sense that they are trying to spread and walk towards it) while I though/think they are.

The closest we got to having it good here in Portugal was in 25th April of 1974 when the military (and the people) organized a revolution against the fascist regime. Two main figures existed, but one stopped being a lefty because of the USA. (financing and etc...)
Today, the left parties of Portugal would reach around 20% of votes in the country (around 10% for the Marxist-Leninist communist party, and 10% for another one that I can't really tell what it is)

I started to be a lefty because of my family (who are communists) and generally by listening to the news. A hate has grown inside me towards the USA and the ocidental world, when they come in and ruin everything (talking about Chile) with their schemes. At the same time, hope grows in me that countries such as Cuba and Venezuela can keep fighting off the big monster up there.

I understand that there may exist some crap in what I said there (heh) but I'm just 16 years old.

Hello from Idaho, USA. I lived in Portugal for 3 years! Oerias! I always loved the PCP and the Socialist parties. Portugal was much better off after the revolution. Hard to believe it was almost totally bloodless. I really miss portuguese bucaellao [sorry if it is misspelled, I have been from portugal for 5 years now :( ]

The ''Socialist'' party now says they are lefty, but they are quite righty.

I'd have to say that the only party that is honest to it's promises and that fights for the people with no intention for profit is the PCP (Partido Comunista Português) (Portuguese Communist Party)

I actually live in the Azores (those tiny islands between Europe and North America) and yes, bacalhau is great :) (Cod)

Bem-vindo! :) Nice to see more people from Portugal here. A comrade I know recently went to the Avante festival, he just came back with lots of pictures and stories to tell.
