alrighty, I am reading this mammoth book right now called, The Prize, by Daniel Yergin. For a quick summary, it is about the history of oil starting with the first discovery of Rock Oil, in Pensylvania. To its presence in the first World War, and from after how it became bound to international politics and economies to forever change the landscape of our world.
I reccomend this book to anyone looking for an explanation of the companies and their respective countries who have faught for this prize and who have ultimately shaped the policies and boundaries that are present in todays world. It is easily one of the most fascinating and educational books I have read lately.
