"Cracker"

How come "cracker" is so acceptable in society? It makes all whites seem like rich, ignorant rednecks who beat thier wifes. Less than 10% of us do that. People may say that it is more acceptable than "n***er" because it has no history of opression and slavery, but most blacks werent even alive during segragation. Most people seem to forget that blacks inslaved blacks and sold them to whites.

We've had a few discussions on the subject. "Redneck," "cracker," and "honkey" serve no purpose other than to divide people based on skin color and should thus be marginalized like all other other racist or racially-motived terms.

Your conclusion about the slave trade is slightly inconclusive. While blacks enslaved blacks, the increase in demand brought about via Arabic and Portuguese traders resulted in a much harsher form of slavery than was commonly practiced in Africa. It's true that no specific race owes another race leverage, given that we're simply descendents (and the focus should instead be on class differences), but let's not pretend like European involvement didn't alter Africa in an (almost) entirely negative way.

Redneck is a bit of a classist term, just to point out.

And still today, blacks are affected by past oppression, and it's not like oppression against blacks stopped when segregation stopped. Blacks are still oppressed today. And to say "most blacks weren't even alive during segregation" doesn't make the word "nigger" still not have those connections to the past. The history behind a hateful word matters whether current blacks were around during segregation or not, and "cracker" doesn't have that history of oppression behind it.

Though Cracker should still not be used because it is a word that divides people.

I say cracker and I'm fine with white people. When I say it I either refer to my white friends (jokingly) or to politicians, who are (whip)crackers in the sense that they oppress us.

White people, black people, latino people, asian people ALL are victims of racism. Injustice done to me is a problem for society as well as me.

Having so many poor black people IS a problem for all people who want to make a living under capitalism. If you drive down the wages of one minority group, you drive them all down, because when U go on strike or U ask for more, they can replace you with the reserve work force of women, latinos, blacks, etc who are out of work or will accept lower wages. Being poor is systemic and brutal.

But this type of red herring argument detracts from the FACT that capitalism fails to meet the needs of workers and should be destroyed, by a group of people who believe in equality/egalitarianism.

Though he is clearly incorect, I don't think he is being racist. He's just fallen victim to the racist thought and ideas of "reverse racism". It's clear that he's not a racist, but in fact is just naive and hasn't yet realised that racism is still a huge problem. Banning him will not solve this. It could even drive him towards genuine racists whose views he is unknowingly echoing. Incase you didn't notice this guy's 13 years old. He has a lot of learning to do. So instead of banning him, I think it would be much more healthy to explain why he is wrong.
