There are only two good anarchist groups in the US.
Modesto Anarcho and RAAN

is NEFAC no good? I do not lean towards the Makhnovist approach, making them not applicable for me, but are they dismissable?

I'm not an anarchist but the following two organizations are interesting.
Socialist Labor Party (http://www.slp.org/) (not necessarily anarchist but leans heavily that way)
Workers Solidarity Alliance (http://workersolidarity.org/)

"When the original IWW, based in Chicago, was captured by anarcho-syndicalists in 1908, the SLP participated in the formation of a new IWW based in Detroit"
(from the website of the SLP)
though I am aware that not all anarchists have syndicalist sympathies (I adhere to the Malatesta opinion myself), isn't opposing anarcho-syndicalism in that manner very un-anarchist?

You might have confused 1908 with 2008, but that happened over a century ago. Lots of things might happen in such a timespan.

The Socialist Labor Party declares itself socialist and has spent many many years criticizing anarchists. However, their SIU program (Socialist Industrial Union (http://www.slp.org/res_state_htm/siu_ism.html)s) is quite obviously an anarcho-syndicalist concept, no matter how they frame it. I only pointed out the SLP for their often fascinating writing on the SIU. But no, the SLP is not an anarchist party per se but they're well worth reading.

Thank you for the clarification. The question was merely to satisfy curiosity and you have finely fulfilled its purpose.

The Industrial Workers of the World better known as the Wobblies would be the best in my opinion. They are a Anarcho-sindicalist trade union that is actively part of the class struggle.

NEFAC are in my opinion as an anarcho-commie, the best of what must be said, is quite a terrible bunch in the US.
There are some great orginisations over the pond, but the reputation of american anarchism is blemished by lifestylist cults like Crimethinc :/.
But yeah, NEFAC aren't perfect (they're platformist) but other than that they're good.

I don't know much about NEFAC as an organization. I've read their Workplace Papers, and I really liked it.

Yea I'd say NEFAC, and groups like them, are the best anarchism has to offer both here and internationally.
IWW are not explicitly anarchist, though anarchist ideas clearly dominate the IWW. The IWW does some great work in organizing some independent unions.
