LYRICS:
-------------------------------------
Im here, trying to make a living
And I aint living just to die
Never getting back what Im giving
Wont someone help me, someone justify
Why these strong hands are on the unemployment line
And theres nothing left, whats on my mind

Whos gonna work for the working man ?
Work for the working man
(Work) Get the hands in the dirt, whos gonna work of the curse
(Work) Brother Ive been damned, if I dont raise a hand
Work for the work, work, work for the working man
Work, work, working man

Empty pockets, full of worries
I had to get two jobs and it was hard enough getting by
But with the grace of God Im getting us through
But only know that I know how to do
That Im the only one whos gotta look my family in the eye
Day after day, night after night

Whos gonna work for the working man ?
Work for the working man
(Work) Get the hands in the dirt, whos gonna work of the curse
(Work) Brother Ive been damned, if I dont raise a hand
Work for the work, work, work for the working man
Work, work, working man
Work, work, working man

I lost my pension, they took my ID
These were my friends, these were my dreams
These were my hopes, these are my dreams
Can you hear me ?

Whos gonna work for the working man ?
Work for the working man
(Work) Get the hands in the dirt, whos gonna work of the curse
(Work) Brother Ive been damned, if I dont raise a hand
Work for the work, work, work for the working man
Work, work, working man
Work, work, working man

I lost my pension, they took my ID
These were my friends, these were my dreams
These were my hopes, these are my streets

That's typical for many US Musicians. They sing about the life and the daily problems of the working class but they don't think one second about things like political alternatives. Instead, many of those bands, e.g. Dropkick Murphys, combine these white trash attitude with a strong US patriotism.

Dropkick Murphy's isn't explicitly political, but they're very much pro-working class, anti-boss, and pro-union. You don't have to be an overt socialist to write songs supporting the working class.
