Written by Mattew Collin.
Anybody read this? I started it yesterday, it seems like it should be an interesting read. Here's a quote from the blurb:

This is the story of B92, the Belgrade radio station - a courageous group of young people who grew up in the Serbian capital under Slobodan Milosevic's repressive rule. They waged a 10-year campaign for freedom, armed only with a radio transmitter, some rock'n'roll records, and a dream of truth, justice and another kind of life.

Pretty corny, eh?
But I think it will be good.

Well, no one seems interested but here are two reviews of it:

Central Europe Review (http://www.ce-review.org/01/16/books16_monroe.html)

Eric Gordy (Department of Sociology, Clark University) (http://www.b92.net/media/scalling/ericgordy.phtml)

It is a great book, now that I have delved deep within its covers, telling the story of how the people that matter felt about Nato's intervention, or rather their method of intervention.

I'll throw this one (http://archiv.medienhilfe.ch/News/2001/SER-B92book.htm) in as well.

It is a great book , I finished it the other day.
It is good because it tells the story about how the people....uh....I already said that...

But yeah, it gives some reflection probably, of how the people in Afghanistan felt, and how the people in Iraq are probably going to feel, etc., etc.

It also tells how the music the radio station was playing was as important as the news broadcasts they were putting out etc., etc., etc., etc.,.....

Huh, my emotions are mixed when I talk about Milosevic. I judge him for what he`s done to his own nation in Serbia. But I can`t be on the side of his judges when I watch him defending in Haag. In that moments, I`m one of his biggest fans. Maybe he hasn`t deserved it, but in some weird way, he represents there the same nation he has tortured, and discovering his proofs he discovers the terrifying truths about what NATO and goddam USA did to Serbian nation in Yugoslavia (and I can`t stay by side because it`s my own nation).

From what I read in the book, Milosevic controlled the media, and the majority of people didn't want him in power. He also was fucking up the economy, with an inflation rate of 353,000,000 at some stage in the early 90s. He advocated extreme nationalism, which is the same thing as racism, and therefore complete bullshit.
