View Full Version : Preparing for Fidel's Funeral
New Tet

Who in the world will show up at Fidel's funeral? Will people like Sean Penn go and lay flowers upon the bier and on the final resting ground of one of modern Cuba's greatest persons?
C'mon, guys and gals, let's play this game.
Let's each of us make a list of ten prominent people we think will show up at Fidel Funeral (Never mind if it's ten people we'd like to see at Fidel's graveside but whose appearance is improbable or unlikely):
1. Sean Penn ('cause he's got the balls)
2. Barack Obama (by way of apology in behalf of the American people)
3. Hugo Chavez ('cause he can't imagine a world without Fidel)
4. Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie (they look good together in black)
5. Hugo Chavez ('cause if there were two of him, they'd both be there)
6. Nelson Mandela (whose courage, intelligence and loyalty are, to say the least, beyond question)
7. Dick Cheney (making amends for crimes against humanity)
8. Me (because this shit game is getting harder by the numbers)
9. Noam Chomsky (just to say 'I told you so')
10 Yoko Ono (because if John had out-lived Fidel, he would still have done what his heart had told him)

Okay, you got your joke in and we know your fist choice (elegantly made, btw!).
Now, how about making a list? just 10 names. You don't have to explain why, either.

:lol::lol::lol:
Fidel's conclusion will be televised live with moving speeches by the very loose definition of friends and musical tributes with 15 minutes pauses in between each bit.
I expect the Buena Vista Social Club to team up with Justin Timberlake and Snoop Dogg to perform the newly written Fidel tribute Shake It (Like A Guerrilla War).

Ofcourse Chavez, Raul and Morales would come.
Obama, Biden and Clinton would use this to check out their new property.
And Paris Jackson will be there to cry for Fidel in a sad heartbreaking moment.

Pretty keen observation. Hillary would be the official choice. Ted Turner and Jane Fonda are likely to make an appearance, don't you think?

2) Elián González - so we can finally answer the question, 'Donde es Elian?'
3) Seath Rogen - he's just everywhere
4) Dick Chaney - to claim another soul so that he may live another 100 yrs
5) Reagan's ghost - to claim victory for finally defeating communism
6) Eurkal - who as part of an amazing comeback will pop up and say, 'did I do that?' and once again find a place in all our hearts.
7) Hemmingway - who faked his suicide so he could soak up some rays in peace
8) Evo Morales - who will immediately face off with 9) Hugo Chavez in a vicious cage match to determine whose the most badass latin american leader now.
10) Cuban Highlander - who, after decapitating Castro -the only way he can die, will hold his head up high and yell 'there can be only one!' and then cut the ribbon to the new Donald Trump communist casino.

1) David Tennant (Because he is David Tennant)
2) Russel Brand and 3) Eddie Izzard would be the comic relief.
4) Hugo Chavez (Coming to avenge his Master by killing the Cuban Highlander)
5) The Cuban Highlander (to fight Hugo Chavez, but will ultimately be defeated when the one immortal he can't kill shows up to help Hugo)
6) John Barrowman (To save Hugo)
7) Me (I would show up to be incredibly handsome and witty. I would also make an extremely moving speech about what Fidel meant to the world that even George Bush would burst out in tears. And I would also save the day by defeating [along with a little help from David and John] Davros and the Dalek horde)
8) Davros and the Dalek Horde (there to exterminate communism and all, of humanity)
9) of Montreal (would show up and play a tribute concert with their new hit "For our elegant class")
10) Barack Obama (there to survey his new vacation spot, but will end up insulting my honor. I challenge him to a duel (with swords) and defeat him easily. And according to the rules I just made up, who ever kills the president of America will become the new president of America. Thus America will really start on it's road to socialism.)

Pregnant and Pithy.
Keep going, because there are, at the very least, eight more ironies of history we may witness before the event of Fidel's funeral occurs and concludes.
I can't imagine a funeral that will be more renown and transcendental when it comes down. Am I exaggerating? Maybe.
