So I've just found this site called Information Is Beautiful (http://www.informationisbeautiful.net/), and it has a ton of images that really help you grasp the complexity and enormity of certain concepts. I thought it'd be interesting to start a thread on this to see if anyone else knows of any other sites/images to contribute.
NOTE: This is not a thread for photographs or anything like that.

Thanks for this, especially the "Walled World" thing. And people on here disregard the importance of challenging imperialism?

this is the best place I could think of to post this, for it is thought-provoking and visual. I hope you're willing to be inclusive of videos.
It's a 1983 Soviet anti-war short film called конфликт (conflict) by Garry Bardin
I think it's a gruesomely forthright and simple, so that even a small child could grasp the concept.

That made me sad. We can do so much better in this world..we don't have any excuses for what's going on.

i think the OP map is slightly misdrawn, large swathes of the worlds economy resides in oil producing arab countries like the KSA and UAE.
The Saudi Royal Family alone has a stake of 1/6 of the US economy.

It appears to be based on average income though, so how much would this matter?

The way that wealth is distributed in a country is indicative not only of the health of its economy, but also the well being and standard of living of its citizens. Here we show how distribution of income looks across the globe, with notations for the countries living in extreme poverty.
Wealth Distribution Around the World
Values are based on the Gini Coefficient, a measure of dispersion, for each country. It is a calculation that represents the relative mean difference of personal income between citizens. Values are multiplied by 100 to generate whole numbers, where a value of 1 is absolute equality and 100 is absolute inequality.

That match you-tube video reminded me of the Marque de-sade, who wanted to perpetrate a real crime, he wanted to build a giant mirror and focus the sun's rays to scorch the earth bare of life.
