When you put it in perspective, though, the "Taliban" is still losing many, many more fighters, but all they have to do is grind it out and go for attrition. They don't have to have an outright victory.

That's also a very unfortunate story with the man brutalized by the Taliban, it shows perfectly that yeah, although the Taliban is fighting foreign occupation, it's still a very reactionary and barbarous group.
