So I have a friend whose father is a diplomat for the Peruvian government, and a relatively high ranking one at that (counsellor). We were debating, and he suddenly asked me where he would fit in the class system (him being part of his father´s class, as he´s still economically dependent on his own father). That left me kind of stumped. A high ranking diplomat doesn´t really own property (at least this one) or employ people, aside from a few maids. But he earns relatively well too. So is he petty-bourgeois? Because that was my immediate thought.
