The most powerful group in the western hemisphere is the electorate. They have the power, if they wished to use it, to vote in a completely new system.
It is agreed on by most experts that we need to reduce our emissions by 80% of 1990 levels, to avoid environmental catastrophe. Also on the forecast are mass crop failures, movements of people, social unrest and more wars over dwindling resources . Do you want that ?more of that? You know you are going to get it, if you don’t do something about it. Something now ! Add to that the growing social inequality where 100,of thousands die daily through lack of basic foods and medicines.
We need to get these problems sorted and we need to get them sorted now.
We need to sort out who this planet belongs to......? A selected few or all of us?
We need to sort out, what the basic need is for all our people and make sure they are getting them. We cant have this situation where obesity prevails in one part of the world while children starve to death in other parts. Its a disgrace.
We can no longer trust our leaders to sort this out, so we must lead the leaders.
The chance now is with the British. They have a great track record for creativity and leading social change, so they must lead now.
The British electorate at the 2010 election must vote for radical change to ensure the safety of our world community. If Britain will do it other countries will follow.
Our 2 problems are caused by
Pumping and dumping too much toxic waste into our environment and
Social Inequality
So the solutions are in someway simple.
[Spiritually, the message is clear, less focus pursuing money and consumer power and more focus on our environments, self development and personal relations].
Environmentally we need to radically reduce the amount of toxic elements that we pump and dump into our environment.
Politically and economically we need to
Take a large step towards social equality, [but not too large as to create suffering through social upheaval ].
We will tackle social inequality in 2 ways: politically and economicly.
Politically
1. We will create in the U.K a lower parliament. This will be equally accessible to all adult, UK citizens. It’ll be web based and paper based. Anything passed in the lower parliament must go through Westminster in its next session.
[We will define social equality as
All people have equal right and responsibility to the earth and its resources.
Socially we will measure social equality as such; equality of access to the decision making processes, and by equality of access to goods and services.]
The creation of a lower parliament will give more equality of access to the decision making processes, while not demeaning the house of Westminster and not create any social upheaval.
Economicly
2. That, we are allowed to pay 20 percent of all our utility bills, including taxes and bank interest with local Currency. [xLETS] allowing the 2 economies [cash and local] can co-exist , inter-act and strengthen local currency
This will give more equality of access to good and services and..may take 20 percent of our economy away from the banks and governments into the hands of the people , where it cannot be abused or speculated on. In theory the introduction of Lets can eradicate the source of all poverty caused by social equality, that of unequal access to goods and services. If the UK adopts the LETS other countries would soon follow. In theory we could eradicate the source of poverty [that of unequal access to goods and services] within a generation.
Those are the 2 radical steps towards social equality that we must take. They will create powerful and profound changes into how we trade and organise without creating suffering through social upheaval. The electorate.....must only vote for the political party that offers these in the next general election in the UK.
These things will need to go hand in hand with stronger communities and the political party must also promise to support the
Community.
Not legislative but encouraged and supported [financially]
Two of the main pillars of community, those of decision making and exchanging of goods and services are no longer with us.
Funding should be given for smaller grass roots communities with power to make their own decisions.
Communities are to be encouraged and supported to supply their own social services, as in child care and care for the elderly etc. Also encourage more inter-action between different groups within the community. I.e.; school and its community, youth groups and seniors. To exert more autonomy and control over their re-sources and responsibilities.
The focus of the community can be the community centre. Local communities will be encouraged to upgrade their centre and to take on any social services [from child care to meals on wheels and community policing], that their community needs. There should be more community involvement in the education of children and other members of the community such as the senior citizens and local trades and services.
The present law that requires a person to register for vote be extended to, they register their vote at the community centre. This will ensure that we at least know where the community centre is.
Small , strong communities will know their own needs better, and organize themselves in a more efficient and tailor made way.
These 3 things , local economies, stronger communities and more personal democratic power all fit into Agenda 21.
Last but not in anyway least.
The environment.
Reducing the pumping and dumping of toxic element into our environment.
In short we need to be giving more time to their communities and families and less time in the pursuit of property and lifestyle.
Needs further consultation but could look like the following, either way the electorate must accept sacrifices. We done it before in the war and we done it in the 70s where we were put on a 3 day week because of government battles with the unions. We must do it now to ensure a healthy environment for our children and their children.
A voluntary 3 day week scheme.
Within 2 years ,a temporary five year ban on production and importation of white goods .
Within 2 years, a temporary five year ban on sales production and importation on any traditional powered combustion vehicle .
This will kick start a real recycle culture. Give manufactures a short time to sell of old stock and a 5 year break to research, and produce lower impact goods .
The meat and dairy industries are the number 1 polluters of greenhouse gasses. A complete reappraisal and immediate action into the direction of subsidies to the meat and dairy industry.
Creation of low impact tramways for city and major towns. Increased shared traffic areas.
Installation of wind turbines in all industrial parks.
Tough but it can cut our radically reduce our emissions.

X L.E.T.S LETS , Local Exchange Trading Systems have been around since the 80s and cover most areas in the UK . They operate quite simply, when you become a member you get an account and a directory all other LETS members. You can start trading straight away and your account get debit or credited accordingly. Lets differ from the cash economy in 2 ways; A health Lets account is a LETs that yoyos between debit and credit , while in the cash economy it is deemed healthy for the account to continually accumulate. ..... It also differs ; When you are a LETS member you have equal access to goods and services as all other members, unlike the cash economy.....

Make these thing happen or we wont vote for you.
