Hello everybody, I am relatively new to this site and I think it may be able to aid my political confusion as of late. My name is Kane, a citizen of the United Kingdom, and I am a student.

I am aware this is a non-political section, but my political status seems to be sauntering from view to view. At first, I was certain I was a communist, but then doubts fell over me and now I have little idea.

I believe that everyone should have an equel oppertunity, there should be no restrictions as to what you can achieve. There shall always be people who are richer and better than others, but I believe this is inevitable, and that instead of forcing people into one class, we should instead abolish all classes and merely give the oppertunity to those who are poorer to become richer. I believe in higher taxes for those who are richer, and lower taxes for those who are poorer. A good welfare system, which does not just feed people with money but instead help people work for money. I oppose racism and all of that, and despise Nationalists (You wouldn't believe the amount of ignorant half-wits who go around preaching to Hitler for attention, it's quite sickening.) I do have in my possession a Nazi Officers Hat, which is only due to my vivid interest in History. My history of communism etc is a little slow, and from what i've said I can clearly make out i'm not a communist.

So am I a Socialist? if so, what kind? I love politics, but I am not very good at determining what status (Sorry if I sound Ignorant)

Sorry to bring politics into this non-political thread.

Welcome :)

1. Why do you think one being richer than another is inevitable?
2. Abolishing all classes is exactly what communists want :)
3. Progressive taxes make sense as there will be rich people for some time after the revolution, but if everyone lives according to need and with the economy in ownership of society, what is the point of having income taxes at all?
4. What is your view on revolution? I.e. the need to end capitalism?

I think you're confused, which is not bad or anything. If you have questions, the Learning forum is very helpful :)

1. Because a clean classless world will never exist, capitalism and other forms of it will persist. Thus, some people will always be richer than others.
2. Indeed, I know that, it is what I agree with, I just cannot accept complete equality. By nature humans are diverse, and by nature we constantly want more. I find it hard to accept that Human Nature is subjective, to an extent it is, but certain emotions and attributes are common and cannot be altered. I believe in equal oppertunity, complete equality gives everyone what they need, thus they cannot strive for more like their instincts suggest and capitalism is born, see China.
3. Of course, what you are saying is correct and right, but at first, taxes would be needed to stablize the current capitalistic ruined country, then slowly weaned of until it is not needed whatsoever.
4. Capitalism is wrong, It degrades and stereotypes people. I once had a teacher whom I was debating with, when I said Capitalism denies the working class oppertunity to grow and excel, thus containing them in poverty, she said maybe that is right and they need to be kept. Clearly a middle class person she was, I was quite insulted by it.
