Seamus Heaney has published a new, modern english rhyming version of the anglo-saxon epic poem Beowulf.
Heaney is a very popular poet and a Nobel Literature prize winner.
He deserves another Nobel for this. When one poet can take a classic and greatly increase its value with his own poetic spirit for a whole new world, he has given us an incredible gift.

And those fuckers demolished his house. How can Belfast hope to win European City of Culture when they destroy the home of probably the most famous poet we've ever had.
Heaney's a really big supporter of the Irish language, by the way. And he has refused to perform for the Queen, which is required of any Poet Laureate who comes from Britain or the occupied six counties.

He's my Godfather. His Beowulf translation came out a few years ago and one Nobel Prize in Literature is enough for a lifetime.
Ciaran, who destroyed his home? He lived outside of Belfast anways.

Belfast City Council destroyed his old home in favour of an apartment block. It really pissed off people who are interested in the preservation of important homes.

Oh, well. It didn't seem to bother him too much. I guess he considers Dublin his home now.

Yes, I would support the demolition of 100% of Belfast city. Maybe they could turn it into a shrine to human stupidity.

Canikickit, name the part of Belfast that's worth saving.
I nominate the Royal Hospital since they made advances in treating mass trauma. Hmmmmmm.

Grow up? I'm guessing I was pounding beers at the student union when your mum was wiping your ass.

Believe it or not, 'Super'model, I was talking about maturity, not your physical age.

You still haven't told me what part of Belfast we should preserve after the rest is levelled.
My second proposal would be, I guess, Aldergrove airport since that's typically the fastest escapre route outta there.

oh, I'm sorry. You see I think the people who live there would be unimpressed with ideas of destroying their homes, so I think it would be better leaving it there. You are not super.
