View Full Version : Hey everyone
Comrade Akai

Just thought I'd make an intro post. Name's Akai.
I became a communist due to a combination of my research of communism and capitalism and my religious beliefs of Islam (which, despite what others would have you believe, is rather anti-authoritarian in nature). The particular branch of communism I belong to is pure communism, also known as stateless communism or anarcho-communism, as I'm sure you chaps already know.
Red for our future, comrades.

Welcome. :)
Also, those stereotypes associated with Islam suck. They're obviously not all "terrorists".

Thank you. ^_^
Islam actually condemns acts of terrorism (as well as murder and rape) as crimes fitting of the death penalty. The ideal Muslim by Islamic teachings is chivalrous, generous, honest, all the "good guy" stuff.

Yes, I have actually spent some time in the past looking into the ideas of Islam. I came to realize that many Muslims definitely don't follow the Quran as it was intended. I'm sure the whole attitude towards women is practiced wrong too?

Very wrong. In Islam, it is said that "The best of you is he who is best to his wives." Women are supposed to be treated with love and equality. But many still deviate from this and give Islam a bad name. Did you know in Afghanistan they're passing a new bill that lets a man starve his wife if she refuses to have intercourse with him? It's preposterous.

That law in Afghanistan is sad. :crying: Whatever happened to proper Islam?

It has been said that the first three generations of Muslims were the best of people, and that every generation would be worse.
Well, here we are. Muslims went from technological and scientific innovation and discovery to starving your wife because she won't do it with you because you keep freaking hitting her.

Scientific innovation? Definitely. Look at the achievements of the early Arab empires.

All kinds of things, really. Did you know that Muslim doctors were the first to treat the mentally ill as people who can be cured and treated rather than some sort of possessed evil demon?

Yes, very interesting. Christians kept believing they were possessed by demons for centuries.

I may be 100% Atheist, but if I was forced to choose between Christianity and Islam I would likely go for Islam. haha.

A rational choice, comrade, for religion should not be chosen for you by society nor should it be purely out of emotion; it should be supported by logic and science.

Don't crack up please, but neither Christianity or Islam are supported by logic and science.

I understand about Christianity, but I choose Islam because the opposite is true. In fact, Islam espouses science.

Communism based from Islamic beliefs. That is a great thing to hear, but also not something you hear everyday. I studied up on the Iraqi Muslim/Communist Party that was doing rather well before they were all assassinated by the U.S.-armed Saddam Hussein and his fascist Baath Party. I hope that maybe there is a chance the Communist Parties can come back to the Islamic countries even after the end of the Soviet Block.
What do you feel about religion having so much sway over the lives of the people, as a communist, Akai?

Welcome! We have a "Christian leftists" group here on Revleft. The name might sound a bit discriminatory, but the group are open to muslims too :)
Do you have a particular tendency (maoism, trotskyism, left communism etc.)?

I would like to know why Islam is scientific and Christianity is not. What kind of nonsense is this? They are both based on stories passed down from generation to generation.

In medieval times, the Arabic (Islamic) countries played a vital role in preserving and expanding on ancient scientific knowledge. Perhaps it is a reference to that?

Perhaps. It still does not justify his claim that the religion itself is based on science. It is based on the teachings of a prophet who apperently outlined the true word of God.

No it really doesn't. The Islamic world advanced scientific discovery but the religion itself has no basis in science.
Welcome, nonetheless!
