its a good book, but not great. maybe it is because i expected so much of this book prior to reading it, and then when i finished, i said to myself, "that was it?" im not trying to trash the book, because it was good, but not great. i talked to a friend after reading it, and i told him that i thought i might of missed something. he replied with "no, you probably didnt."

yah, "thats it?" comes to mind when a lot of people finish the book. but it makes sence. a lot of people expect the to have a problem, and fix it. i like this book because it shows that the problem is not fixed and it cant be fixed in one book. the problem still continues and there are many are still people out there triying to fix it while at the same time there are people out there making sure it doesnt get fixed.
but your right its not great. good but not great, and i want to look for more of these kind of books. any sugjestions???

Grapes of Wrath is an amazing piece of literature and it is a pity that so many people hate it. I have yet to meet anyone in my college who has actually taken notice of that books actual quality.. its very sad..

that is sad to hear punkrawker. that has got to be one of my favorites. i knew two people that read that last year, and i talked to them as they went through it, and all they could say was "i dont like it, its too sad. this isnt realistic." no matter how much i talked to them, they just did not like it, and said they would much rather be reading pride and prejudice.
