Utopia - More

What is More writing about in the story? Is it a satire? I don't know, I'm about to start reading because I finished 9-11 (amazing book), so I wanted a glimpse or a taste of what More was trying to say.
Wasn't More decapitated, beheaded by King....something oh henry something?
