Yeah. Allen Ginsberg is one of my favorite poets.

i read about half of that poem to my english class and about 95% of them sat there, drifting off into space, with the entire thing going completely over their heads.

I saw Ginsberg give a reading shortly before he died. It's my "brush with greatness." He signed two of my books and we chatted a little. Whatever his reputation as a poet will be in the future, he seemed like a genuinely nice man, which is worth more than poetry.

I love the poem America by Allen Ginsberg.

I think my favorite part is:
"My national resources consist of two joints of
marijuana millions of genitals and unpublishable
private literature that goes 1400 miles an hour
and twenty five-thousand mental institutions."

It makes me laugh every time I read it.

I thought Ginsberg's introduction to "Naked Lunch" was the best thing he ever did.
