Many of his books were Cuban related as he lived there for quite a considerable period and love the country. Books like "The Old Man and the Sea" shows traditional Cuban culture whilst highlighting the simplistic values and themes life must be lived by.
Who has read his books and who enjoys them? You either love or hate this guy? Let's hear it comrades!

The Old Man and the Sea & The Sun Also Rises are personal favourites of mine. Hemingway, imho, was one of the few writers that truly epitomized the triumphs and struggles of his era.

i really like the sun also rises... there is just something extremely catchy about his simplicity.

i havent read him, but i have A Farewell to Arms, and havent gotten around to it. i bought it because he is always refered to in praises of Jack Kerouac, and i love kerouac. anybody read A Farewell to Arms? any thoughts on that one specifically?
