View Full Version : North American Right Wing Reading list
Conquer or Die

As an American I am interested in culling the information resources available to me in order to better educate myself on the opposition. The opposition is a vulgar term that encompasses everybody who claims to be conservative or represent the conservative viewpoint. I also believe in the full dissemination of ideas that allow for rebuttal, fusion, or even acceptance. I believe that certain attention should be paid to certain cases: Anthony Hervey is a black man waves a confederate flag, Thomas E. Woods is a Von Mises supported Catholic, David Duke is a white supremacist who attempted to capitulate to certain groups, and P.J. O'Rourke is a funny man who lofts Adam Smith to the ultimate defender of human freedom (I guess). Too often, it seems, Marxists are interested in secting, denying, and improvising on the spot reverting to ancient texts. Marxists conversely attack Liberals which can be used as a scapegoat. While the Liberal position may be in opposition to the proletariat dictatorship platform, if not more damaging than the conservative platform, it is necessary to understand the wider swathe of human dialogue and understanding currently taking place. If I emerge a propertarian racist islamophobe from reading polemics of one side then that simply shows the weakness of my character.
My list:
The Politically Incorrect Guide to American History by Thomas E. Woods Jr.
Why I Wave the Confederate Flag, Written by a Black Man: The End of Niggerism and the Welfare State by Anthony Hervey
Muzzled: From T-Ball to Terrorism--True Stories That Should Be Fiction (Paperback)
by Michael Smerconish (this is something that I regrettably throw on this list, Smerconish is actually a somewhat sensible moderate republican)
Capitalism and Freedom: Fortieth Anniversary Edition [SPECIAL EDITION] (Paperback)
by Milton Friedman
White Guilt: How Blacks and Whites Together Destroyed the Promise of the Civil Rights Era (P.S.) (Paperback)
by Shelby Steele
Liberal Fascism: The Secret History of the American Left, From Mussolini to the Politics of Change (Paperback)
by Jonah Goldberg
Economic Facts and Fallacies (Hardcover)
by Thomas Sowell
Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal by Ayn Rand, Nathaniel Branden, Alan Greenspan, and Robert Hessen
The Death of the West: How Dying Populations and Immigrant Invasions Imperil Our Country and Civilization by Patrick J. Buchanan
My Awakening: A Path to Racial Understanding (Hardcover)
by David Ernest Duke
On The Wealth of Nations: Books That Changed the World [BARGAIN PRICE] (Paperback)
by P. J. O'Rourke
How Capitalism saved America by Thomas Fattie Fat Dilorenzo
The Revolution: A Manifesto by Ron Paul
I need help, however, as I need two texts to complete the right wing testament. The first is a book by an author whom I do not know but he is one who claims to be a liberal, he wrote a book that defended the Iraq War from a "Liberal hawk" perspective and I would very much like to add him to the same list as Paul, Duke, and Fattie Fat. The second is a book of critical importance which deals specifically with the role of intelligence (specifically racial intelligence) that determines development of nations. The man is apparently a rocket scientist (literally) and holds dual PHDs.
Discuss you must.

The intelligence one could be this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IQ_and_the_Wealth_of_Nations
or it could be the Bell Curve by Charles Murray.
If I were you, I'd read Anarchy State and Utopia too.

I had that book at a time, before my brother borrowed it and lost it over in Brasil or somewhere. I've never got to read it though.

Common Sense by Glenn "I think I'm gonna be sick" Beck.
I still can't believe he would disgrace Thomas Paine by taking the name of his pamphlet. what a prick.

It's actually neither of those. It poses as an ultimate sociological text similar to the Protestant Work Ethic or Guns, Germs, and Steel. The writer of the book believes the nation should be segregated in four part.
If I were you, I'd read Anarchy State and Utopia too.
I might consider this one considering as it is the logical conclusion of anarcho capitalism.

Also known as 'the list for those who wish to fry their brain and use the fluid to make over-easy eggs.' Honestly, if I was trying to come up with a reading list that was totally in support of racism, bigotry, economic ignorance and reactionary tendencies, it would look something like that list. All you need is The Bible and Ayn Rand's piece of trash, Atlas Shrugged and it'd be almost comprehensive, but to an extent, I suppose it's good to know one's enemy. Try not to die while reading all of those.

The undeniable progressive advance of the United Snakes is in fact the first amendment. Had this been a Leninist position post 1917 then we might see an appropriate dictatorship of the proletariat instead of socialism in one country which inevitably doomed both Russia and China. The vanguard is the most exceptional form of progressive leadership but only when its errors are rectified - including bureau censorship.
The Bible is not reactionary; organized social conventions and control however, are.

Yes, of course. Because the facade of freedom propagated by wealthy, white slave-holders is something that the poor and impoverished should carry as their banner. Sorry, but we're not calling for a revolution of the upper class to stake increased claims in society. We're calling for liberation and I'm sorry that you view socialist construction in a utopian manner, as opposed to a scientific one. You obviously lack the capacity to comprehend what the dictatorship of the proletariat is. It is the means that the proletariat use the state apparatus to defend their revolutionary gains from counterrevolutionary and bourgeois aspects that consistently assault those gains.
Also, have you read The Bible all the way through? The part where it says that women are their husband's property? And where it says that women on their menstrual cycle should be isolated due to their uncleanliness? Or the party where it says that women who get raped should be stoned to death along with their rapist for not screaming loud enough? You think that isn't reactionary? Get help.

Well it's not actually, as Nozick spends the first third of the book arguing for a minimal state, but don't let that put you off. If you're interested in seeing what some of the best arguments against your views are, give it a read.

So the vanguard should censor freedom of speech? Should the vanguard commit the grave error of forced collectivization in the name of socialism in one country?

Metaphor and metaphysic are not in combat with materialist progress.

You guys have more of a fascination with right wing literature than any right winger I know. Enjoy reading your David Duke. I and most people forgot about him 20 years ago.

Hobbes' Leviathan would be right to eradicate all opposition and especially the religious minorities in the name of social peace and would lose legitimacy if he took the property of his subjects. Read him, along with Clausewitz and Macchiavelli, Sorel, Carl Schmitt and Leo Strauss, Gustave LeBon, Mosca and Pareto. They are the thinkers of the right. The right stands for blunt power politics supported by an arbitrary myth, by rhetorics of the kind brought up in this very thread.
Rightwing rhetorics and political biographies, their myths, are hardly of any use. You will only pollute your mind with clashing civilizations, races and religions; with wars on terror and people bred and chosen by god to rule nations. But you don't want rightwing Ideology, what you want is rightwing theory. That is referred to as realism. Also, read up what you can on political psychology, militaria and public relations.

The "political compass" is a highly dubious and biased site.

I wouldn't bother with complete loonies such as klansman David Duke, who is even discredited among conservatives. If you want to understand the conservative mind it's better read popular authors. Some popular conservative authors have been politicians like Barry Goldwater and Newt Gingrich, William F. Buckley, , the Catholic bishop Fulton Sheen, etc. One could also include the famous-for-fifteen-minutes authors like Bernard Goldberg, Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin, but the previous ones I named are likely to be read for decades.
