Sometimes, I feel like I'm the only leftist who isn't a punk, a red-skinhead, or hip-hop head. Oh, dark despair- for I feel I am the only dark aristocratic of zee night in ziss cruel vurld!

Seriously though, anyone down with that kinda stuff? I'm a huge lover of a lot of gothic rock, electro goth, and darkwave. Stuff like:

Bauhaus, The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Sisters of Mercy, Clan of Xymox, Bella Morte, Inkubbus/Sukkubus, Diary of Dreams, Joy Division, London After Midnight, The March Violets, Dead Can Dance, Switchblade Symphony, The Changelings, ::mira::, The Cruxshadows, black tape for a blue girl, Romowe Rikoito, Moon Far Away, Love Spirals Downward, Jesus and Mary Chain, Voltaire, L'ame Immortelle, The Last Dance, Blutengel...

Please say I'm not alone.

I like Joy Division but they are post-punk not goth. I mean they are dark but I they dont fit in here.

London After Midnight is pretty cool.

Nah, too light hearted for my tastes. Or perhaps too apathetic is the right word... Curse this language!

Try some Diary of Dreams. That's some soul-crushing shit right there.

@Kuznetsov, you're not alone ;) I'm more on a (old school) EBM side myself, but I like the original batcave bands, post-punk and whole bunch of stuff from that subculture.

Oh it's great to see some other people here with tastes similar to mine. In addition to every band listed so far (pretty much) I'm a bit of a fan of Sopor Aeternus and The Ensemble of Shadows, ThouShaltNot and Ego Likeness.

The whole genre is fucking epic, really.

I was just going to mention Sopor Aeternus and the Ensemble of Shadows! I remember I got kind of scared the first time my friend made me watch one of her music videos. :blushing:

I'm stoked about Dragon*Con myself- not just for the geek factor, but the Saturday night concert is going to be ASTOUNDING:

-Faith & the Muse
-Voltaire
-Bella Morte
-The Cruxshadows.

I think I just might cry blood, shit a bat, and jizz cobwebs.

I don't listen to a lot of punk, but I do listen to a lot of metal.

How about you just come to Dragon*Con instead and hang out with us freaks, geeks, and tweaks? We're the mellowship, the fellowship.

I LOVE GOTH!!!
... Nightwish ...

I dunno about the rest of them, but as a goth, I can tell you that nightwish certainly is not gothic music.

There is a distinct difference between musicians dressing like goths, and music being gothic. Nightwish is the purest form of power-metal, which has little if nothing to do with gothic music.

I'd love to, but I can't afford to renew my passport much less a flight to Atlanta. Who knows, maybe one year. Definately if they have such epic muscians turning up.

Thank you, NecroCommie. I was about to start GAWTH RAAAAAGE.

Also, I can't wait to hear this song again live:
