Staff at '4 homes' in Mitchelstown Cork are staging a sit in in response to redundancy notices

The Thomas Cook occupation may just be the spark that was needed to inspire people to resist.

And Mitchelstown has a history of worker's taking control- the Mitchelstown Creamery was under the rule of it's workers during the War of Independence when workers hung the banner 'we make butter not profits' from the building.

Its over already as the company agreed to meet with union officials.

This recession seems to be a major excuse for making redundancies left, right, and centre, when its the ordinary workers who are paying for the gambling of capitalist developers and bankers.

Good job to the SWP for being so sharp to respond to this one. All Leftists need to be watching their local communities for such occurrences and organising support for the workers.
