I do not not why but when I show somebody a picture of Che they somehow get that he is either a Nazi or a caveman:confused:. Has this happened to anybody else?

I once saw a guy with a shirt that had Che and Hillary Clinton side by side, with the words "SAME OLD SOCIALISM" on top of them.
Needless to say, I raged hard.

In Puerto Rico, people in general know who Che is and the reactions to a Che T-shirt differ.
Amongst the people in my class of 2008 (and those of 2007) they thought nothing bad about it. They either thought Che was cool or that the T-shirt itself was cool.
However, this is not to say you couldn't find people who hate Che in Puerto Rico...
The difference is if they see you in public wearing it most won't care or bother you about it.
In Miami of course it's a whole different story.

Of course they think he's a Nazi. Nazis and Communists are exactly the same, remember?

Clearly you didn't follow the presidential campaign, or live in a red state like I do.

I paid some attention to it but Michigan is a blue state and everybody was too busy calling Obama a Socialist.

A classmate of mine back in high school once asked me (While I was wearing a che shirt) why I would wear a picture of hitler.
I really don't see how you could mistake the two (unless your a complete dumbass, which he was)

Wanna know what really annoys me? When people wear Che t-shirts without actually knowing who the man was. I hate that he's nothing but a pop culture icon these days.

Same thing with Bob Marley. A lot of kids in my old high school wore Bob Marley shirts and when I would ask them their favorite song, they stand there a give me a blank look.

What exactly are you trying to say here? There was really a guy named Eric Robbins who I went to school with who thought Che [on my Che shirt] was Hitler. Are you calling me a lair?

I was referring more to the Education systems in the Europe and USA trying to make out that communism and fascism is the same thing. When kids get taught stuff like that, I can actually understand how someone may mistake che for a nazi. The comment didnt really have anything to do with your mate. Sorry I should have made myself clearer then.

What's really weird is that one of the few kids in my school that knew who Che was, he gets the worst grades and the people that get good grades have no idea who he is.

All school is nowadays is just a breeding ground for reactionaries. The people who can see this and are alarmed, usually end up hating the rightwing (that is regardless of 'intelligence').

The Education system here in Florida is an epic failure all the way around. In 11th grade in my American history HONORS class, on the Civil War test, half of my class picked the answer 'Jefferson Davis' to the question "Who was president of the UNION during the Civil war?"
I just had to do this:

Because those people see getting good grades at high school level as an essential ingredient in them getting a good cosy professional job when they grow up, away from all the dirty proles. Getting good grades is all about working hard and nothing to do with actual intelligence. At my school the biggest tools were the ones with the highest grades. The sole person I know from my high school who later got involved in left politics (And is doing very well at University) was someone who stayed in high school after senior year because he did so bad.
