Firefly is one of my favorite series, even despite the fact that it never got a chance to meaningfully develop. Definitely the best writing in TV I've seen outside The Wire. Watched all the episodes 10+ times... have a Blue Sun tshirt... sing "the Ballad of Serenity" to myself when I'm lonely... etc.

However, the scene in Jaynestown where Mal tells Jayne how working people need idols, since they're too stupid to struggle on their own behalf, I would leave out of the series if I could. :rolleyes:

Firefly was a good series, I never watched it on tv but found all the episodes online somewhere. Serenity was also a really good film imo.

Yeah I was really facepalming at that Jaynestown scene too. As much as I love the series, I can't help but notice the very individualistic tone that it has, mostly drummed up by Mal. But all the characters and the writing and directing are so good... I wish it could have at least reach a second or third season. :crying:

Additionally, I am looking into acquiring a Jayne Cobb hat; I've found a place online that sells them for like $35... I wish I could knit!

I liked it. I also found it funny that they used left over costumes from Starship Troopers for the Alliance commandos :laugh:
