My name is Josh, I'm 24 and I hail from Massachusetts.

I first got into activism through punk rock bands that shared these ideals. And curiosity got the best of me. I've always had a complete contempt for authority and it all just snowballed from there. I have read a few things but I wouldn't consider myself and expert on the subject of Anarchism. I only started taking it's ideology seriously a little over a year ago after my time in a Food Not Bombs program. Where I was introduced to some nice folks in the IWW. In the end I didn't join the IWW for lack of necessity of it on my part. But I do support them and I'm thankful for them introducing me to Sacco and Vanzetti, kick-starting this for me. And while I will admit I'm not well versed in Socialism, the instances I have read of it being put to use in real life situations were definitely not what I'd consider to be favorable.

Mostly I live by the mantra "Live and let live."

It's very important to me that all life be left to live as they so choose. And I also feel strongly about equal rights for women everywhere. Big supporter of the gay rights community. Anti-racism. The whole deal. So you could say I have touches of green and pink. But some aspects of those schools of thought aren't for me so I don't subscribe to them completely. Such as some feminist's demonization of sexuality. As well as primitivists on the green side. Human and animal rights are a big part of who I am. And I'm very conscious of who I buy from and educated on their practices. I consider myself non violent. But any animal will strike out when backed into a corner.

While I do enjoy modern amenities and feel it would be nice if the workers controlled their own affairs when government "shits the bed", if it went all Mad Max tomorrow I don't think I'd much care. I'd actually be pretty excited I imagine. This is probably due to my homeless period and living with out for so long. Even with that said, I do believe we could maintain our own standard of living in this modern world but on our terms. With the people in charge as it should be.

My stance on religion is that it needs not to exist. In this world of push button nuclear holocaust we can not afford such archaic beliefs. But I do my best to be tolerant. And do not push my views on others, only revealing what I feel when asked. Because that's their way not mine.

I'm also not a fan of what I call the "Guthrie concept". The idea this is where end and you begin combined with conflicting religious beliefs has never turned out well in the end. I would ultimately prefer some type of communal system where people are designated toward their way of life. I'm a realist in the sense that I understand we may never achieve true peace in this world. So if we could just at least say "That community is full of bad news and that one's A-okay" I'd be cool with that. At least we'd know where we stand. We can't come together as a people if we're always worried about our taxonomy. I don't know if you folks have a word for that, I'm still new at this.

So again, I'm Josh. Anarchist. Period. That's where I stand at the moment.

Sorry for the rant. I've never tried to solidify all these thoughts into words before. I hope you welcome me and I look forward to having interesting conversations with people that take these topics seriously since people here that do seem few and far between.
