why do they charge you at the library? shouldn't it be free?
I read the book and liked it. I am Nicaraguan and I would also recommend for you to read about Sandino, a figure who influenced Che, and Fidel.

which one? You should go visit my country. It is a living symbol of the exploitation of the campesino. It will really make you think about the injustice in this world.

I just read Anderson's biography and it was excellent. He includes a very detailed acount of the revolution among other things. It is also written well and includes to sections of pictures. I would recomend it for anyone as a great introduction to Che, Cuba, Castro, and Marxism.

"fire From TH mountain, Memoirs of a Sandanista".
I always quote nicuragua as an example, when people say communism always leads to dictatorship/. There you had a communist government which remained democratic and, from what I know, was not ended by its own failings but by the intervention of the U.S. and the way they collectively punished the nicuraguan people

Jon Lee Anderson's "Che Guevara: A Revolutionary Life" might be expensive, but it is worth every peso or penny.
It is, after all, over 700 pages of perhaps the best biography I have ever read. Anderson had access to documents and sources, as well as interviews with people, that no Che biographer ever has before, and it is a well-balanced and thoroughly insightful book. You can really see Che develop, and more than anything you can truly see clearly why Che raised his fist. In Che's shoes, I would have done the same. GO CHE!
Everyone should read it...twice :)

I liked Paco Ignacio Taibo's book more, Guevara: Also Known As Che--it read like a novel.

Great book, Anderson's probably the best biographer so far...Btw, his foreword on "Bolivian Diary" seems more informed and less condescending than Fidel's lenghty monologue, but I'm sure you knew that... :)

Im reading Anderson's biography right now, although I only paid $20 for it new. So far it IS the most excellent biography i have ever read. I almost feel like Che is sitting there with me when I read it.

I can only see an english version and a french version. Do you see a Spanish version on the web? Or do you want the English?
If you are willing to share your address with me using the messenger button above, I will send you the Spanish version from Amazon, companero.

i tried to buy that but it wasnt in print. I'm only 17 and i can't buy anything from outside of Scotland which is annoying because i want to learn alot more about nicaragua. All i know is that it was elected and the US trained a proxy army (contras) to attack it. Nicaragua managed to hold out some how even due to the supreme advantages held by the contras because of their super power ally. I really want to know more about it so if you could recommend any otehr books about nicaragua.
