I think the CM remains a great introduction to Marx, and I believe that it remains as relevent today as when it was published. For example, "Constant revolutionizing of production, uninterrupted disturbance of all social conditions, everlasting uncertainty and agitation distinguish the bourgeois epoch from all earlier ones." That sounds an awful lot like what trendy theorists call the condition of postmodern man.
There's plenty to find in the CM, and each reading reveals something new.

I remember reading it early last year and forging the opinion that it is very anti-family. Would i be right of saying that or did i merely understand it?

anti-family?
how is this? i only saw one reference to a fact that would be considered anti-family, which was when karl marx mentioned that the proletariot has no family, which is not true in any sense. The mannifesto still remains an important piece of work however, which we can either praise or criticize.

I believe Marx said that Capitalism turns the family relation into a mere money relation, or something along those lines. He was very critical of how capitalism hurts family and social life.

what is with all of this "introduction to Marx?"
has Marx written anything else more commendable or worth-mentioning?
uuuum.. how about 'das Kapital'...? the capital, i suppose?
and also Marx did want to get rid of the family, cause workers didnt have a family in the first place. yes, it does say it in the manifesto... at least VERY close to that....

oh yes, I am familiar with das kapital, I have read some of that too but I never quite finished reading it. Is there any thing ELSE besides those two that are not coming to mind at the moment?
