Mi Amigo el Che, by Ricardo Rojo.
It narrates che´s story by one of his friends, you get to know very interesting things about Che. I really love it

Have you ever read Jon Lee Anderson's 'Che Guevara: A Revolutionary Life'? There are parts in it where Anderson says that Rojo made up a lot of things for that book and that he and Che were never that close but he made some stuff up to make them sound like they were much better friends. Maybe it was a false claim by Anderson but I'm just warning you in case.

At the moment I am reading a book about Che (J. Lavretsky, Ernesto Che Guevara). I have to admit that it's full of Sovietic propagandhy and I am not sure can I trust it as an historical source... Does anybody know about this book?

I read from somewhere that Ricardo Rojo wasn't actually very close to Che, that he just used the fact that he knew Che for making money. I would love to know have you heard smething about this facy, was it really so?

Yes Rojo and Che met up on Che's second trip around S America. They travelled with each other for a number of months but were never as close as Rojo describes.

I did like the book for all the funny anecdotes though. Like the ones about the nicknames they gave each other, or the bet che won about his pants being so dirty they'd stand up on their own. Even if Rojo made a lot of it up, it was interesting, cause you feel you get a bit more insight into che's personality through the anecdotes.
I just got " Ernesto, a memoir of Che Guevara" by his first wife Hilda Gadea. Haven’t had time to read it yet, but should be interesting to read her views on him.
