Go to the bottom of this url above and see more
links. We've had a back-and-forth with the editors
of the "Black Book of Communism."

I got the Black Book of Capitalism from Amazon.fr and my french isn't very good. It's only in french. I'm still trying to have an english version published. Anyone got suggestions?

SM.
How many pages etc. has the book got?
Could be a translation job for the chelives team, anyone involved interested?
I can't speak french yet but plan to learn soon, I'd be keen on a few chapters for a start.

I'm in the office right now, and amazon.fr has dropped it from their list so I can't read online how many pages. It's a much smaller book than the communism one.

I'd say 200 or so pages.

If the team wants me to send them the book, I'd be happy to. Does Che-lives team have a PO box or something? Just sent me a private message with adress and I'll send it right along.

I think a good translation into english would find a publisher.

I'm not on the chelives team, so anyone else out there interested?
I agree that a good translation will be a good start towards publishing. This would be a very good project for people to get involved in, like I said I'll do a few chapters for a start.

200 pages, if we get 10 people into it, 20 pages each.

Not to big an ask. After the rough translation we could get it proof read by a native French speaker before trying to get it published.

I know very well French (1st French speaking student in Estonia a year ago although not maybe that good anymore because I haven't studyed it at school for 2 years now, but I communicate often with people from France, so maybe almost as good as a year ago). And I've translated a book which will be published soon. So I can always give some help.

OK.
I'll try and sort out a place to get a copy or where SM can send a copy. The real problem will be getting it into electronic format so we can divide it up and have multiple people working on it.
Any ideas or does anyone know of any software that could make this happen quickly?
Is it currently online as a downloadable PDF or something in french?
Can you get it on disk or anything like that from Amazon or the like?

I'm pressed for time today but will try and look into some of these areas over the next few days if others could do the same it will help to get the ball rolling.

I don't know if that Italian one is the same book in a different language, but I know someone wrote one in French and http://www.zmag.org/ZMag/articles/july00gallagher.htm says that there is one in German.
