For instance, are there any Counties in England where creationism is actually taught side by side with evolution, in state-run primary schools (what we call public in the U.S., what you call private in England)?

I have christian friends and hindu friends and they don't try to convert each other or me. How recently did these rulings occur? A few years ago, intelligent design and evolution were given equal attention in my high school biology class. The teacher almost avoided the subject of evolution completely. She gave a brief definition of evolution and a brief definition of intelligent design. We were given an assignment to research the one we believed in and return with a short essay on it, and it was never spoken of again.
