I don't really care much about their symbol/logo...

Although sometimes their actions work but I think this leads to an over-confidence that sending letters will save every kind of person from executions. If a regime really wants some one dead I bet they will execute her no matter what; I bet the ones that get released are probably just "small fry" (at the time) to the authorities.
