After a workers revolution against the government, international interference would obviously occur. The UK's current political alliance with the U.S would probably mean they would be first to step in and try and reinstate the old government  (not sure on who agrees with this view)

Post revolution what do you think would be the best way of dealing with foreign intervention? Do you shut off your country from the rest of the world in an attempt to build up your own defences or do you focus on spreading your message to the workers of the world to attempt the same in their own areas / aiding the workers from other countries?

Spread da message! Revolution needs to be international for such actions not to have impact.

You could cross your fingers and hope that we overthrow our government first.

Spread the message. Go on the offensive. Incite workers' revolutions everywhere. Do NOT try to fight off the entire world as it comes in to suppress your revolution. That's a recipe for a degenerated workers' state if I've ever heard one.

Spread your message beforehand. Going it alone in the UK would get you squashed, but if you strike while there is a sizable movement in the US the government is going to be too busy repressing us and will probably not send more than a token force in your direction.
