Why put in 80 hours a week just to see the majority of your earnings taken in taxes to pay for the non producers.

The economic system is quite capable of employing (nearly) everyone in the long run. However in the short run people (rationally) turn down job offers and wages don't immediately adjust to the underlying equilibrium market wage.
