I can barely believe this. Is this for real or just a newspaper hoax?
Britain to put CCTV cameras inside private homes (http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2009/08/britain-to-put-cctv-cameras-inside-private-homes/)
I haven't seen this piece of news anywhere else - maybe you have?

It is from the Sunday Express, not one of our better newspapers, but I wouldn't be surprised if our control freak government planned something like this.

The programme is certainly real. It targets about two thousand of the worst 'problem families; for intense superveillance and support by social services to ensure children are adequately fed, regularly attend school, avoid anti-social behaviour and so forth.
I don't know whether there is an actual CCTV element to it - given the demonisation of feckless parents by New Labour it wouldn't surprise me.

I've never heard anything about this before, from anywhere.
And when I Google this the only thing that comes up is this very same article being posted.
So, I'm skeptical.

This article sites absolutely no references for its opinion. If the Sunday Express did publish this, which I can't find on their website, it is not something that anyone else has heard or is talking about.
Incidentally, I went climbing on Saturday at Stanage Edge, in the peak district and they have CCTV up there now.

This seems pretty unlikely, not many people are going to agree to it... unless it's a free 35" HD Plasma screen TV. In which case a hell of alot of people probably would.
To be honest though i'm pretty doubtful.

They exist, honestly - but only at the theoretical stage. They're called 'family implementation pacts' and the Children, Schools and Families Department has already pulled the money to fund them out of its arse somehow. They're basically a punitive, individualised version of the "Sure Start" children's centres which also involved intensive cooperation by various interrelated social service personnel in 'tough to crack' areas. It's unlikely they'll be implemented though, I doubt they are even legal given our European obligations.

Folks didn't click on that last sin bin link on the end of that wired article?
Searching for it brings up: http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2007/apr/12/socialexclusion.uknews http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/problem-families-may-be-sent-to-special-sin-bins-522492.html.
Apparently, those sin bins already exist on a small scale? I've never heard of them being used but hmm..

Today, while I was driving over to a scrapyard to get a replacement engine for my brother's car, I noticed cameras on the side of the road. Appearently nowadays the entire system of roads and highways is monitored to 'register traffic movements'. It's a small step to link this to a plate scanner and log where everyone is going. These cameras cost a lot of money though, and they are easily stolen or run over. So that got me the idea that the most effective way to combat Big Brother is to destroy every piece of CCTV I come across. If just a small group of people did this the financial effects would be detrimental.
Placing CCTV in the homes of 'wrongdoers' is easily justified by politicians, it's a first step towards total control. I'd say take action against it now, before it's everywhere.

It's not. For instance, I can now include my entire music collection on a single digital device, which is lighter and smaller than my old school calculator.
I mean, yeah, repression and war and inequality and so on, but c'mon. 120GB FTW!

Here in the UK it's already everywhere.
If/when the Capitalists catch you, they'll use the courts to fine you, make you do community service adding up to the cost you incurred by smashing the cameras etc.......
Of course nowdays when you can't pay up, they just shove you in a prison cell.

Well, carefull planning and technical knowledge helps alot. Also some useful tips can be found here: http://www.reachoutpub.com/osh/ .One can never be certain about not getting caught, and should even be prepared for the unlikely event of being arrested and prosecuted. As far as I'm concerned, I'm amazed that there haven't been any 'terrorist' attacks by the extreme left to show our governments that Stasi-like policy will not be accepted by the people.
In the Netherlands it was made possible to assign certain areas as 'risk zones', where people could be prevently searched by the police since 2002. This was just the start.
Soon the identification crazy followed. Everyone older than 14 years is now obliged to carry a means of identification with him at all times. This makes repression a hell of a lot easier and the eviction of illegal people effortless.
In 2007 the secret service AIVD was given full acces to immigration data.
A year later, our minister of Youth and Family (Christian Union creep André Rouvoet) made it standard that all children between 0 and 19 years old fill in a list of very personal information, including a possible sexlife and details about family. This was done to look for risk cases.
Cameras on our roads to trace traffic congestion and make possible the 'kilometer tax' (a new form of taxing the use of cars) can easily be used to track people's movements.
If they should use public transport, we've got that covered too. Nowadays, the tickets are on their way out and are being replaced by a chipcard that needs to be bleeped in on the start of the journey and bleeped out upon arrival. It then calculates the kilometers over wich fees are paid. Very handy indeed to be able to tell where someone has been, since the passes are registered on name.
The urls of visited website are stored by IP adresses for 6 months. Not only is this heavy storagespace consuming, this also helps in looking for potential suspects. A regular Revleft poster? You will be watched.
Data on mobile phones was already being stored for 6 months.
Something that is being set up right now, is a national database of healthcare data of the entire population. This to make the info more accesible to healthcare professionals. Too bad that the security cannot be guaranteed, and this makes a perfect opportunity for insurance companies to raise fees for 'risk groups' such as people with cancer in the family. Also our justice department will like this, you have a scar somewhere? They'll have you easily identified by that even if you do not want to disclose your identity.
The next big thing here is the screening of passports via the interwebs before leaving the country. This is done to speed up the inchecking and to make it easier to screen voor 'risk travellers', on your second wildlife trip to Nigeria ? You will be picked out and interrogated. (Not approved by EU, hopefully Brussels will shoot this plane down).
Something that has been accepted recently by our government is the addition of 2 biometrical features to our passports. These will also be stored in a central databank, usefull for looking up a few fingerprints every now and then. This one has also been frowned upon in Brussels.
God I hope someone blows up the secret service HQ or something...

A Dutch friend of mine said that legally, a police office's suspicion that a person is not carrying identification (whether true or not) is cause to search someone, essentially meaning there is no defence against unwarranted searches. This true?

This Family Pact is really disturbing, however a quick search has not turned up any results so it must be a long way off.
On the subject of the perpetuation of Labours Santa Claus state (they know when you are sleeping, they know when your awake, they know when you've been bad r good so be good for goodness sake) I was at Heathrow airport yesterday and the whole biometric/Iris scan thing is waay further ahead than expected.
Britian sounds like it's becoming as Colonello Buendia (http://www.revleft.com/vb/../member.php?u=14342) said, a "Santa Claus State", It's going to be Big Brother. No liberties, easy incarceration.
But hey, they probably need this to control the working class, eh?

This CCTV crap is what happens when the ruling class feels secure in implementing more control due to a disarmed working class.
