Racist skin infiltrating local punk scene, what should I do?

So a couple days ago I saw a 30 year old skin with an 88 tattoo underneath his eye who was trying to convince a younger skin to put white laces in his boots meaning "White power". I don't know what I should do to keep him out of scene. I don't believe in violence thats not self defense, but maybe if I see him at a show I can talk enough shit to get him to swing first. Or maybe I should try and warn everyone I know not to listen to his ass, cause he claims not to be racist at first when he approaches people.

The fact that a man who walks around with an 88 tattoo under his eye isn't immediately recognized as a racist shows the lack of education among many youths. Education is the tool of the antifascists and the left. Misinformation is the tool of the racists, fascists, far-right.

Just stick with your group of friends or whatever, when he approaches you (or approach him first) and tell him exactly how it is, you don't want racists infecting your place.

I'm quite sympathetic to the idea that violence against fascists is always legitimate. Getting your self-defence in first and all that. I also agree that it'd definitely be worthwhile talking to more people about this guy, making sure they know who he is and stuff.

Don't let him attend gigs or hangout in your pubs/areas, he'll quickly get the message.

All we can practically say is get other people together who don't like him. Make sure everyone knows who he is, what he represents. Make him feel unwelcome. Tell him firmly he isn't welcome and be prepared to back this up physically. Offer him no quarter, be totally hostile.

Make sure if you do this you are prepared for it. This means having back up and being ready for an angry response.

Thinking like that only promotes fear and the resultant inactivity. I doubt a nazi skin would immerse themselves into a local punk scene on their own if they had the choice to go in with numbers, as some punk scenes- particulary some skin crews- don't take to kindly to their type.

Good point. Personally I wouldn't base inactivity purely on the fear of reprisal, unless I knew it would be so extreme as to be stupid and pointless to initiate it in the first place.

No one loses a fight and says "Thank you for teaching me a valuable lesson. After you knocked me the fuck out, I realized how wrong I am, and I will leave you alone", shit just escalates.

Answer my first question. What happens if he ignores you? Confronting fascism isn't about making them change their mind. Their "ideology" is based on irrational fears, and fake science. You cannot reason with these people, and why would you want to? They are class traitors. The point in confronting fascism (using violence if necessary) is to not let them gain any ground; not let them create a space for themselves.

When they start showing up at venues and/or start recruiting. I am very serious about giving them no quarter. And I know first hand what happens when you do give them any room to get comfortable. The punk scene where I live is extremely tolerant of nazis, and a lot of punks are racist.

violence aside, merely explaining to your friends the 88 is a nazi symbol and that most people who wear it are completely batshit fucking insane in the membrane should make him a pariah, uf you are unwilling to resort to violence, fair enough but seriously as has been said give no quarter
