So currently I'm addicted to this expose on the real Mao. So much so I got in trouble at work a few times for taking some extra few minutes to finish the chapters. It's an expose at the real Mao, and how much of a bandit he was by killing innocents and being completly untrained and undedicated individual to the things he claimed he was fighting for.

The references are suprisingly very real taken form his speeches and his previous works and from the people who knew him and historical records, displaying very valid points with good information.

A must read for anyone still thinking Mao was a "revolutionary".

Mao The Unknown story is famous for being bullshit. Seriously, even most anti-maoists regard it as crap. It's nothing but character assassination using highly selective sources to paint mao as a one-sided mass murderer who loved the taste of human blood and ate babies while bathing them in his own semen.
You really should read some differant biographies and other sources for info on Mao and chinese communism

At one point the stupid author even bashed Mao for being lazy because he liked to read books. Perish the thought!

LOL well sometimes reading the books is seen as capitalist influence and that true leftists should just fight fashs and work in the rice fields... although there is ofc much more for it that that. :)

I made the mistake of picking up this book without looking at it (I won't do that again). Pretty sure there was a part in there about Mao getting the OK from Stalin to start the Korean War. Yeah.

A fantastic book to use as kindle for a fireplace, housebreaking your dog, or as impromptu toilet paper.

Ugh, I made the mistake of picking that up. Should have tracked down my stoner buddy and given him the pages for his rolling papers. Or maybe one could use the pages in making something fun out of paper mache? Sounds like a fun project :D

I read a review that said the book's rediculousness is so apparent, it actually relieves Maoists of worry of the defamation of his image. That is, it's so terrible, that it deligitimizes anti-Maoists. Overall, I think its a vendetta from an author who felt negative effects from his regime. I find it akin to a "black book of communism" specifically for Mao.

I am always weary of books with "The Real", "The Untold", "Exposing", "unmasked" etc in the title.

They are usually as a general rule - revisionist clap trap.
