There are a few books by Eduardo Galeano that should be read by anyone interested in Latin American revolution and it's roots.
Las Venas Abiertas de America Latina [Latin America's Open Veins]
By: Eduardo Galeano
Memoria del fuego [Memory of Fire]
By Eduardo Galeano
This is a trilogy of books (Genesis, Faces and Masks, and Century of the Wind) that cover the entire history of Latin America up to the late 80's in a very interesting way. This is a great trilogy and an absolute pleasure to read.
Galeano is a highly respected author among Latin revolutionary circles. He writes in Spanish, but I have included traslations of his titles. I know these books have been translated to English. If you really want to get a feel for why insurrection exists in Latin America, read these books. The writing is brilliant! I just hope that the English translations do them justice.
Tengan la suma solidaridad con sus hermanos y hermanas de America Latina que luchan por los derechos más fundamentales.
