To help me learn it.
I'm leaning towards Hey Arnold.

Fuck off. I always wanted to know how to say that in Greek.

How do you say gyros in Greek?
Kukulofori
31st July 2009, 15:53
Uh, okay, I should have been a bit more specific.
I'm thinking along the lines of a movie or a TV series.

Translate the Edukators into Greek. Followed by the Dreamers.
Kukulofori
31st July 2009, 16:15
will have to check those movies out in a couple days or so.
I'm thinking about translating Sid Meier's Colonization. I won't be able to use the Greek alphabet, though, so would that look completely incomprehensible to an actual Greek person?
I'm also learning Dutch, so if you feel like torturing me go ahead and suggest something in Dutch.

translate Das Capital in to Dutch.
Kukulofori
31st July 2009, 16:20
it was originally written in German, which a Dutch person can pretty much look at and understand completely.

Oh, yeah, forgot about that, was thinking from English to Dutch. Ok, translate Dante's Divine Comedy in it's original Italian into Dutch.

translate this please
I was working in the lab late one night
When my eyes beheld an eerie sight
For my monster from his slab began to rise
And suddenly to my surprise
He did the mash
He did the monster mash
The monster mash
It was a graveyard smash
He did the mash
It caught on in a flash
He did the mash
He did the monster mash
From my laboratory in the castle east
To the master bedroom where the vampires feast
The ghouls all came from their humble abodes
To get a jolt from my electrodes
They did the mash
They did the monster mash
The monster mash
It was a graveyard smash
They did the mash
It caught on in a flash
They did the mash
They did the monster mash
The zombies were having fun
The party had just begun
The guests included Wolf Man
Dracula and his son
The scene was rockin', all were digging the sounds
Igor on chains, backed by his baying hounds
The coffin-bangers were about to arrive
With their vocal group, "The Crypt-Kicker Five"
They played the mash
They played the monster mash
The monster mash
It was a graveyard smash
They played the mash
It caught on in a flash
They played the mash
They played the monster mash
Out from his coffin, Drac's voice did ring
Seems he was troubled by just one thing
He opened the lid and shook his fist
And said, "Whatever happened to my Transylvania twist?"
It's now the mash
It's now the monster mash
The monster mash
And it's a graveyard smash
It's now the mash
It's caught on in a flash
It's now the mash
It's now the monster mash
Now everything's cool, Drac's a part of the band
And my monster mash is the hit of the land
For you, the living, this mash was meant too
When you get to my door, tell them Boris sent you
Then you can mash
Then you can monster mash
The monster mash
And do my graveyard smash
Then you can mash
You'll catch on in a flash
Then you can mash
Then you can monster mash

Davvero? Peccato. Si dovrebbe imparare, è una bella lingua. Beh, ovviamente si parla inglese, in modo tradurre questa poesia in olandese o greco.
O Captain my Captain! our fearful trip is done,
The ship has weathered every rack, the prize we sought is won,
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring;
But O heart! heart! heart!
O the bleeding drops of red,
Where on the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.
O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells;
Rise up--for you the flag is flung for you the bugle trills,
For you bouquets and ribboned wreaths for you the shores a-crowding,
For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning;
Here Captain! dear father!
This arm beneath your head!
It is some dream that on the deck,
You've fallen cold and dead.
My Captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still;
My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will;
The ship is anchored safe and sound, its voyage closed and done;
From fearful trip the victor ship comes in with object won;
Exult O shores, and ring O bells!
But I, with mournful tread,
Walk the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.

No idea. Only other languages I really know anything about besides my own are German and a little French and Russian.

Nope! My Greek is actually really bad, I'm doing this as practice to help me learn.
I've already found a lot of anarchist literature in Greek, what needs translating? I don't want to translate something that already exists all over the place.
Ok, first off, what does "Κουκουλοφόροι"mean? :confused:
During the December riots, it's what the media used to refer to protesters who fucked shit up. It was part of a campaign to convince everyone that it was just a small minority doing so.
Κουκουλο means ski mask.
