We need a thread on this, I feel.

I am back up in Aberdeen today to cheer on the mighty dons against Olomouc, probably with mixed results. Also important is that Motherwell are up against Steaua Bucharesti who I believe will be absolutely thrashed (the Well, that is).
Who's your team playing?

My team is good enough to get into the Champions League so we're playing no one today.
Yes i was about to make such thread :o so here we go...Tonight 9 pm (local time) we play against Vaslui Romania. They say is a new team, which their president spend lots f money to get them on top of their league football(havent yet), have some really good players, but nothing we must scare of...The only problem is, their president is a former national referee and im afraid that the referees will be affected by that, and some sweet small papers, or a different exchange..We saw that happening again, so we must put our best.
First match tonight away, just 3 hours and 15 minutes to go and i cant wait..

Good idea for a thread.
I'm hoping the pretty large English contingent are going to do well, i reckon Aston Villa's pace on the break should be a pretty powerful weapon in europe.

Sad to read the results from Omonoia and Aberdeen. Omonoia, for obvious reasons. Aberdeen, because I just had to root for them because of a certain someone (not sam, sorry). Apparently they were pretty shit. It's been rough for Scottish football. First Falkirk get kicked out by a Liechtenstein side, now this. Oh, and as expected, Motherwell lost 3-0.
Also shit were PSV Eindhoven, who got an undeserved win against Cherno More in the last minute. PSV looked crap, nothing worked. Shit team. I wish it had remained 0-0, then maybe the Bulgarians would have gotten some more courage for the second leg, and then maybe the fucking PSV would have been eliminated by such a tiny club. That would have been funny.
Oh, and NAC Breda won away against a 10-man Polonia Warsaw. It would be nice if they progressed.
:crying::mad:
I tried to avoid anything else with music and revleft, but it seems that i didnt manage it in the end..
Anw, what i said about the referees eventually didnt came true, it wasnt and the best referee i saw, but nothing too much..
We basically suicided, with all the respect to vaslui, they arent a team we should loose with 2-0, we shouldnt loose at all, not with such score...We had some players injured of course, but with our standards loosing from that team we were inexcusable..The game reminded me of some games of anorthosis last year in groups..The other teams play football and are better than anorthosis, but in the end anorthosis got to score from luck...
Poor performance from our players, maybe some mistakes from the coach, and some fucking damn injuries made us loose and have to get back to a strong 2-0 in tuesday!!

Several thoughts on this one.
I have been a Dons fan all my life, and was a season ticket holder for several years before moving to Glasgow. As such, I am used to disappointments: 4-1 away to Scumdee United in 2005, the cup horrors of Queen of the South and of course the Dunfermline semi-final shocker of last year.
However, this was absolutely atrocious.
In all above instances there has been at least one player, maybe two, with pass marks. None last night, and if the club wasn't so skint i'd ask for my £20 back after seeing that shocker. Tactics were all over the place (I'll never know why Duff and Young were playing at the back and we clearly missed Zander Diamond), obviously not enough preparation and a complete lack of heart. Credit where credit's due for Sigma who scored four really good goals (barring the first one), but you have to ask questions when their forward can skip through four Aberdeen players to fire it into the corner.
Whats worrying now is that our first game of the season is against Celtic. This promises to be a very embarrassing season.

4-1 away to Scumdee United in 2005

Austria Wien 4:2 Vojvodina (first leg result 1:1)
I feel sorry for the lads. They did good in the 1st game, although they played on Red Star's stadium and without several key players.
32 minutes before the end of the second one in Wien, they had 1:2, and the referee was awful.

So it appears Sigma have drawn Everton! This could be interesting.

 Woops. I looked on wiki and couldn't track them down.
Everton should annihilate them. Having said that, their recent outings in europe haven't exactly been magnificent.

Who?
They're the people against whom Aberdeen did so well recently. ;)
