I've never seen the appeal of MMORPGs myself. I prefer games where your skill is in your reactions, not your statline.

MMORPGs have always struck me as immensly unedifying as an experience. I've played a few before but they didn't really grab me. I enjoyed a couple of MUSHs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MUSH) before though.

FPS is real gaming, words cant describe the satisfaction of calling in a successful artillery strike after scoring 5 consequitive headshots with a scoped bolt action rifle from long range.

Hah! You'll find whatever alternative you discover for words will be hard pressed to describe the feeling of watching a strategum succeed or seeing a numerically superior foe fall to your tactical nouse and carefully honed fighting force.
I think that I've always felt more satisfied seeing a civilisation rise in the eponymous game or outmanouvering a foe in the total war games than I ever have just shooting some mook in the head.
Actually by a similar token I enjoy RPG games more, especially older isometric ones like Baldur's Gate which had gripping storylines, reams of great dialogue and combat which felt like small-scale strategy (only with characters you could give a fuck about.).
With that all said and done I'm also a huge fan of killing the shit out of random people in games like Saint's Row or GTA.

It's fun stuff. If you like silly sex humor mixed with a really complex team based strategy game.

I used to play the original mafia browser game (mafia.org) years ago. Great times but horribly addictive. One reason (along with fifteen quid a month) that I stay well away from online worlds

I wil not have anymore Cumbria bashing, we are so cool the state had to take over the alcohol business in the not too distant past. You know why? Because we get messy properly, not like you southern ****s with your wine bars and trendy bars that charge 3.50 a fucking pint.
fuck the south, up the CLA
Cumbria Cumbria uber alles

The state took it over because people in Cumbira are so thick they can't even do capitalism properly. Your publicians are just the most regular drinkers.
Wine bars don't exist in south london because the SLRA (South London Republican Army, 69-05) blew them all up. I think it shows the inadequacy of northern education systems more than anything that you don't recognise this.
3.50 a pint is evidence of our oppression by the Hendon-Surreyite faction which aims to totally undermine the fighting spirit of south london. Comrades in the Revolutionary Insurrectionary Army of South London (Marxist-Leninist-Guevarist-WhatYouFuckinLookinAtYou****ist) are carrying on this fight and support the brave efforts of our brothers in our sister organisation in the Fenlands (HAIL EDELWEISS PIRATE). We in the Army Council are disappointed the CLA does not recognise our common cause and the need to unite against the joint oppressor of national government.
