Dazed And Confused
(Page)

Been Dazed and Confused for so long it's not true.
Wanted a woman, never bargained for you.
Lots of people talk and few of them know,
soul of a woman was created below.

You hurt and abuse tellin' all of your lies.
Run around sweet baby, Lord how they hypnotize.
Sweet little baby, I don't know where you've been.
Gonna love you baby, here I come again.

Every day I work so hard, bringin' home my hard earned pay
Try to love you baby, but you push me away.
Don't know where you're goin', only know just where you've been,
Sweet little baby, I want you again.

Been dazed and confused for so long, it's not true.
Wanted a woman, never bargained for you.
Take it easy baby, let them say what they will.
Will your tongue wag so much when I send you the bill?

Black Dog
(Jones/Page/Plant)

Hey, hey, mama, said the way you move, gonna make you sweat, gonna make you groove.
Oh, oh, child, way you shake that thing, gonna make you burn, gonna make you sting.
Hey, hey, baby, when you walk that way, watch your honey drip, can't keep away.

*Ah yeah, ah yeah, ah, ah, ah. Ah yeah, ah yeah, ah, ah, ah.

I gotta roll, can't stand still, got a flame in my heart, can't get my fill.
Eyes that shine burning red, dreams of you all through my head.

Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah.

Hey, baby, oh, baby, pretty baby, Tell me won't you you do me now.

Didn't take too long 'fore I found out, what people mean my down and out.
Spent my money, took my car, started telling her friends she wants to be a star.
I don't know but I been told, a big-legged woman ain't got no soul.

* Chorus

All I ask for when I pray, steady rollin' woman gonna come my way.
Need a woman gonna hold my hand, won't tell me no lies, make me a happy man.

Stairway To Heaven
(Page/Plant)

There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold
And she's buying a stairway to heaven.
When she gets there she knows, if the stores are all closed
With a word she can get what she came for.
Ooh, ooh, and she's buying a stairway to heaven.

There's a sign on the wall but she wants to be sure
'Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings.
In a tree by the brook, there's a songbird who sings,
Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven.
Ooh, it makes me wonder,
Ooh, it makes me wonder.

There's a feeling I get when I look to the west,
And my spirit is crying for leaving.
In my thoughts I have seen rings of smoke through the trees,
And the voices of those who standing looking.
Ooh, it makes me wonder,
Ooh, it really makes me wonder.

And it's whispered that soon if we all call the tune
Then the piper will lead us to reason.
And a new day will dawn for those who stand long
And the forests will echo with laughter.

If there's a bustle in your hedgerow, don't be alarmed now,
It's just a spring clean for the May queen.
Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run
There's still time to change the road you're on.
And it makes me wonder.

Your head is humming and it won't go, in case you don't know,
The piper's calling you to join him,
Dear lady, can you hear the wind blow, and did you know
Your stairway lies on the whispering wind.

And as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller than our soul.
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold.
And if you listen very hard
The tune will come to you at last.
When all are one and one is all
To be a rock and not to roll.

And she's buying a stairway to heaven.

No, sir, I'm a fan too. Is the lady in Stairway to Heaven a reference to Galadriel in the Lord of the Rings, or was ole Jimmy a little too strung out on mushrooms?

I love Led Zepplin with all of my heart, body, and soul. My favorite songs are "Ramble on," "Stairway to Heaven," and "Dazed and Confused." I firmly believe that Led Zepplin 4/Zoso is the best rock and roll album ever created, and that they are the best group ever. Does anyone here have the new live album by them out? It has a few tracks from some of their best shows, including a 25-minute version of Dazed and Confused that is truly epic. God bless you, all of you crazy Zep fans.

Hardly.

Here's a little tidbit I heard 15 years ago on a radio special about Led Zep.

During the making of the first album, (still one of my favorites of all time) they had to have Robert Plant hold a large spoon between his mouth and the studio microphone. His voice was so powerful that the sound guy in the booth was going nuts trying to level it for the recording.

I don't know if it's a true story or not, but Plant's voice was truly incredible on that album.

I also love the Presence album, even though commercially it wasn't as successful as other Zep albums. It was a bit experimental rhythmically, but I love it.

Yeah, Led Zeppelin IV/zoso is their best alsbum, Led Zeppelin I is also very, very good.

Another good Led song is bron-y aur stomp from Led Zeppelin III. It has the clapping thing, which i think is awesome. Heartbreaker is also good, as is Whole Lotta love, and Good Times, Bad Times, Friends is good, Rock and Roll is good, thy're all good.

Friends

Bright light almost blinding, black night still there shining,
I can't stop, keep on climbing, looking for what I knew.

Had a friend, she once told me, "You got love, you ain't lonely,"
Now she's gone and left me only looking for what I knew.

Mmm, I'm telling you now, The greatest thing you ever can do now,
Is trade a smile with someone who's blue now, It's very easy just...

Met a man on the roadside crying, without a friend, there's no denying,
You're incomplete, they'll be no finding looking for what you knew.

So anytime somebody needs you, don't let them down, although it grieves you,
Some day you'll need someone like they do, looking for what you knew.

Mmm, I'm telling you now, The greatest thing you ever can do now,
Is trade a smile with someone who's blue now, It's very easy just...

I bet you can all guess what my favorite Zeppelin song is.

I own seven of their records. They're amazing, and in my book are second only to the Experience.

I agree with everyone here, Zeppelin is Great. I think their 4th album is their best and Stairway to heaven is one of the best songs ever made. I also like "Over The Hills and Far Away"

"When the levy breaks" has really cool drums

My fav. is deffinately Kashmir, a true masterpiece..
But the others are far from being bad :)

Dr. Rosenpenis
27th July 2003, 21:25
oh yes, Kashmir, one of teh greatest rock songs

Kashmir

Oh let the sun beat down upon my face, stars to fill my dream
I am a traveler of both time and space, to be where I have been
To sit with elders of the gentle race, this world has seldom seen
They talk of days for which they sit and wait and all will be revealed

Talk and song from tongues of lilting grace, whose sounds caress my ear
But not a word I heard could I relate, the story was quite clear
Oh, oh.

Oh, I been flying... mama, there ain't no denyin'
I've been flying, ain't no denyin', no denyin'

All I see turns to brown, as the sun burns the ground
And my eyes fill with sand, as I scan this wasted land
Trying to find, trying to find where I've been.

Oh, pilot of the storm who leaves no trace, like thoughts inside a dream
Heed the path that led me to that place, yellow desert stream
My Shangri-La beneath the summer moon, I will return again
Sure as the dust that floats high in June, when movin' through Kashmir.

Oh, father of the four winds, fill my sails, across the sea of years
With no provision but an open face, along the straits of fear
Ohh.

When I'm on, when I'm on my way, yeah
When I see, when I see the way, you stay-yeah

Ooh, yeah-yeah, ooh, yeah-yeah, when I'm down...
Ooh, yeah-yeah, ooh, yeah-yeah, well I'm down, so down
Ooh, my baby, oooh, my baby, let me take you there

Let me take you there. Let me take you there

it might of been as he'd just read the book at the time and the album is pretty much showing his love for the book
and they wrote the song while they wree in the countryside

I think stairway is either a criticism of society, about a drug-induced high, or about sex.
