Here's an original thread topic. what's your favourite album art of all time?

Tranformer - Lou Reed - 1972
http://www.arrakis.es/~e.miquel/rnranimal/images/offilp/transformer.jpgOne of my all time favourite albums. Lou looks all baleful and emotional and poetic, but still dressed up and ready to rock

The Velvet underground & Nico
http://www.scasd.k12.pa.us/rpe/images/banana.jpgPop art at its best. Probably my favourite Warhol image (along with Campbell's soup)

Aladdin Sane - David Bowie - 1973
http://img.epinions.com/images/opti/1e/29/85153-resized200.jpgProbably the most famous album cover of the 70s. the album is damn good, but not as good as Ziggy. This photo was the first use of the lightning streak as a decorative symbol-type thing, because "it was used to mark anything that contained dangerous amounts of electricity."

Screamadelica - Primal Scream - 1992
http://www.townsend-records.co.uk/acatalog/psscreamadel.gifOne of the best album covers of the nineties. One of the best album names of the nineties. One of the best albums of the nineties.

Raw Power - Iggy & The Stooges - 1973
http://www.angelsinexile.i12.com/station/images/iggy.jpgSometimes Iggy looks thigh-clawingly hot and sometimes he looks ugly. He looks so beautiful here. it also fits the 'raw power' vibe - "Raw Power the the immortal soul/ Got a son called rock 'n' roll". Dig the 'monster' lettering of the title. Very cheesy and very cool. this is another of my favourite albums, possibly as good as Funhouse.

London Calling - The Clash - 1979
http://content.rollingstone.com/content/329/Images/00290743.jpgThe best rock photograph ever.

Nation- Sepultura - 2001
http://members.odinsrage.com/redoctober/cover_nation.jpg great CD with good songs such as Sepulnation, Vox populi and one man army..

Roots- Sepultura- 1996
http://members.odinsrage.com/redoctober/cover_roots.jpga somewhat old CD of Sepultura, this being a turn over in theyr style, mixing some folk music with death methal and rock.. a must with excelent hits like Ratamahatta, Roots Bloody Roots and Dictatorshit

No Mirar- Boikot

http://members.odinsrage.com/redoctober/nomirar.jpg perhaps the best and most explicit communist band ever...this CD comes in the line of three CD´s nominated "la ruta del Che" and holds some good musics like "nos quieren detener" and the first part of what is one of theyr bigest music "Pueblos" a must..

No Escuchar- Boikot

http://members.odinsrage.com/redoctober/noescuchar.jpg Theyr second CD of the three CD colection "la ruta del Che" has some good lyrics such as theyr version of "hasta siempre"(commandante che guevara), La Habana, and the second part of Pueblos

No callar- Boikot
http://members.odinsrage.com/redoctober/nocallar.jpg theyr last and best CD of the three "la ruta del Che" its is perhaps theyr best CD of all times, with astonishing and good revolutionary musics such as "No callar", theyr version of the well known music "NO PASARAN!", "korsakov", "PGB" and the last part of "Pueblos"

Sgnt Peppar is perhaps the stupidest and "Gayest" Beattles album...

The Stones were big on Reggae for a while, when Keith Richards made his own unnoticed album and Mick "The Prick" Jagger hijacked Peter Tosh. I have the Christmas of 1978 SNL performance, and Jagger acts like an asshole.

"Jethro Tull" is from England too! :)

edit: I'm still good with the stones, though. Just when Mick uses Peter's microphone and his own to sing, it rubs me the wrong way.

"Gayest" is that derogatary? Whether you like the Beatles or not SRGT Pepper is not stupid.

Dr. Rosenpenis
22nd July 2003, 18:14
Sgt. pepper is certainly not my favorite Beatles album, but I don't think it's gay, or stupid, and the cover is actualy pretty cool.
And why do you use 'gay' as a derrogatory remark?

I'll go look up some adresses later, but I think one of the best album covers is from Bob Marley and the Wailers' "Survival" album. Also Pink Floyd "Dark Side of the Moon" looks pretty cool. Metallica has some good ones, as does Iron Maiden. I don't really like the cover to Sgt Pepper's Lonely Heart Club Band, though the album is one of my favourites.
