View Full Version : I look good in makeup!

After a discussion during a smoke-up a few days ago, one of my fellow residents offered to put some makeup on me. Today she did my eyelashes, applied eye liner, lipstick and lip gloss as well as foundation and blusher. I'm happy to report that it suits me! Next the plan is to do my hair and eyebrows, get some appropriate clothes, and then go out someplace. I must say I find it an exciting prospect.

Things to work on: posture, walk and attitude. Such things may not be immediately obvious, but such things can throw up a big red flag if one gets them wrong. In this respect I have discovered that I'm a bit more masculine than I thought I was. Well, that's gonna change! :ninja:

You forgot the high heels. A red feather boa around your shoulders would do wonders! Oh, I can just see it: A red feather boa around your neck fluttering in the wind as you briskly sashay across the graffitti-strewn street!

You'd be the first one to throw up the big red flag. How exciting!

You speak as if a person with multiple experiences on this subject. I am intrigued as to how you were able to parry the icy grip of grim reaper.

Easy: by laughing at myself. The more and louder I laugh at my own mortality the farther away seems its icy grip.

God, I forgot who said that! Usually I'm okay with it, but sometimes I hate to forget shit.

Everybody looks good in makeup. Even dogs and cats.

If you don't look good you didn't put it on right

I agree. Most folks look good in makeup.

Don't post pictures folks.

I wonder if you look like Rutger Hauer in Blade Runner with it on.

Well he was an android/technocrat too. :tt2:

Oh, do tell what that means (Specifically the 'attitude' part. There is a default "female" attitude?).

So you are going to temporarily transform yourself into a parody of what you think is "feminine" (I'm assuming, as opposed to your "masculine" that you mentioned), for your own amusement and the amusement of others?

Isn't that the gender equivilent of a minstrel show?

If you are simply trying to express how you feel on the inside, fair enough, but right now it just sounds like you're having a laugh.

Blackface performers don't try to "pass"; the whole point of a minstrel show is that they don't "pass".

Most men don't look good in make-up.

In all likelihood this includes you.

Even as a goth, I have to agree! But beside that, why is "pokemon" a tendency?

Even I do makeup sometimes in special occasions, but my makeup is something like what this dude has in his arms.

Are you serious?

So you are going to temporarily transform yourself into a parody of what you think is "feminine" (I'm assuming, as opposed to your "masculine" that you mentioned), for your own amusement and the amusement of others?Seriously? I occasionally wear make up (occasionally is an understatement).

If you are simply trying to express how you feel on the inside, fair enough, but right now it just sounds like you're having a laugh. Are you implying make up reflects how one feels on the inside, in that it is only applies to one gender, and not another? Have you not just undermined your own point with this absurd notion?
Make up is mere decoration - whether eye liner, mascara, lip stick (looks awesome on boys) or whatever. To insinuate it's only for one gender is beyond stupid.
Further, it can be used to make someone feel more positive about their own image - people who don't have perfect skin, for example, or those who like to accentuate one part of their face.

Also, make up is awesome.
This reminds me of a boy who came into my work a couple of days ago. He had mascara on and what not, and was well dressed. I was impressed.

Men and women do behave and carry themselves differently on average due to a combination of physiological, social and cultural factors. There's nothing wrong with this; it doesn't make women "inferior" or "weak" or whatever rubbish sexists use to justify their prejudices.

So you are going to temporarily transform yourself into a parody of what you think is "feminine" (I'm assuming, as opposed to your "masculine" that you mentioned), for your own amusement and the amusement of others?Actually, I'm hoping to get laid, to be blunt. Some people (myself included) find gender ambiguity to be sexually attractive. But of course, exploring my sexuality in this manner makes me a horrible, awful bigot who must be restricted immediately, right?

Isn't that the gender equivilent of a minstrel show? Why should it be? I'm not going the pantomime route! I want people to think I'm a woman, not a man in drag.

If you are simply trying to express how you feel on the inside, fair enough, but right now it just sounds like you're having a laugh.Really? That's not my intent at all, I genuinely meant what I said. I posted it in Chit-Chat because I couldn't think of a better place to put it.

Hmm, who am I going to believe, the woman who actually helped me put it on, or some random person on the internet who spams people's visitor pages and throws their toys out the pram when called on it? I wonder...

Makeup is bourgeois decadence.

I'm glad that's clarified! For about a tenth of a second I was worried that I too would have to wear mascara and my regular eye-liner just to post here.
You've taken a great weight off of my eye lids!

Confined, maybe, but not restricted.

Bring video, please.

I can suggest where to put it but it would probably take all the fun out of this exercise.

Believe me when I say that a feather boa and high heels will do wonders to your novel persona.

True, I'm not funny.

But you are.

And for that I humbly thank you.
