As we all know here, the 2010 Fifa World cup is to held in South Africa. The recent Confederations cup clashes were a good testing ground for the Future World cup and I liked the South African Television coverage.

HOWEVER!

What I did not like was that incessant Droning noise coming from the fans use of a trumpet like instrument. it bothered me so much I only watched the highlights of the final on purpose. It Drowns out the noise from the crowd and sounds like a swarm of wasps . . . . for 90 minutes, for multiple games this is all I heard and it did nothing but bother me. I felt like getting a plane ticket to south africa and shoving those trumpets where the sun dont shine.

I know I sound like im going overboard about this but if Sepp Blatter dosent ban these terrible instruments for the World Cup he will ruin the tournaments enjoyability hugely.

Its their fan culture, i find it annoying, but nothing that a good mute cant stop..Anw im against any new rules to silent fans, obviously... I dont care if it ruins the tournament basically, i care only to prevent the fuckers pushing us more laws to throw the fans out of the stadiums.

Bullshit we've had this argument before. Ban them from the stadium.

Damn it lads, I dont think you guys are getting it. Its not the fans fault this droning, these "trumpets" are handed out free to promote "a better atmosphere" at matches. I dont know why they decided that this was the way to do it as I find Africans at football matches to be amongst the most best and atmospheric fans in the world. Africans have always bought other instruments to matches such as drums and these actually make the games more enjoyable IMO.

They should stop handing them out, Bloemfontein Celtic show them how to make an atmosphere without them drowning everything else out

It may be my Eurocentrism shining through but this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6lGIGYAQRME) is how you create an atmosphere at a match

No that is atmosphere. As for the horns I despise them. It sucks that I have even heard a few matches here in the states recently that people had those horns. It is so annoying. Luckily when I watch the World Cup I won't be able to hear anything at the bar anyways.
