im not into slow music either- i like classic/southern rock, reggea, jam bands (phish, the dead, deep banana blackout, max creek), alternative, folk.

aimee mann is amazing. its not soft stuff. shes just a woman jamming on a guitar. most of it is really catchy, not like mainstream catchy though. if you enjoy female musicians like melissa ethridge, ani difranco, juliana hatfield, paula cole then you would enjoy aimee mann.
