I don't know a whole lot, but the party split twice (iirc) over the issue of integrating the revolutionary militia with the state army. Hopefully someone knows more than I do though.

comrade alaistair has put up a few good posts, albeit intermittently on what's been happening. Dig those out and you'll get a good idea of how its all going. Basically, from what i can gather, the Maoists have resigned from government and are pursuing their revolutionary governmental structures which they had left to the side to take their place in government. I haven't heard much about how that process is going, which is not surprising as its something that the media don't have as firm a grip on. Its much easier for them to report on participation in a form of government that they are familiar with, and much harder (physically and ideologically) for them to report from revolutionary village councils and small scale people's courts.

I've posted a fair few articles and links here that could give you an idea of what's happening, go through my posts. In a week or so I'm giving a talk about Nepal which will be filmed, and if the film turns out well (please please please...) I'll post a link to the video here and you can watch. It should fill you in.

Here's some important stuff to dig into that's come out relatively recently:
Nepal: Prachanda Resigns, New Government Formed (http://www.revcom.us/a/167/Nepal-en.html)
and From A World To Win News Service - (http://www.revcom.us/a/163/Nepal_Prachanda-en.html)
Nepal: PM Prachanda resigns, "international community" backs defiant army chief (http://www.revcom.us/a/163/Nepal_Prachanda-en.html)
and of course these letters between the RCP,USA and the CPN(M) that bring out the two-line struggle that has been going on:
Letters to the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) from the Revolutionary Communist Party, USA, 2005-2008 (With a Reply from the CPN(M), 2006) (http://www.revcom.us/a/160/Letters.pdf)

The RCP ignored Nepal for years and then started attacking the Maoists because they weren't subscribing to Avakian's not so "New Synthesis". You'll find much better stuff to read about them on Kasama (http://www.revleft.com/vb/www.mikeely.wordpress.com) and Revolution in South Asia (http://southasiarev.wordpress.com/).
